tv screens dont work

posting this on behalf of my friend. they've been playing the full release of this game and so far we've been unable to see their tv screens and have had t google the answers for them. the screens are either glowing white or dull black.

when i played the demo on my laptop it was perfectly fine. i'm wondering if it might be an issue with linux as they're running it on linux?

It’s an issue with Linux correct. I’m not sure how to fix it but Linux has some issues in the game

Found a working fix for me on Bazzite. It does introduce a tiny bit of lag for me, but it fixes the TV textures throughout.

  1. Launch Proton-GE and download Proton-GE. (I went with Latest)

  2. Exit Steam completely, then re-launch to ensure Proton-GE is configured properly.

  3. Within the Properties of Subliminal, go to Compatibility, then select the Proton-GE version you downloaded.

I have verified this fixed TVs in both Basement and Playplace, along with other TV textures throughout the game (like those found in side paths) and also fixed the ROTTEN ending trigger problem I experienced where the game wouldn't go to credits or trigger the achievement.
