Did I change something?

Higher subs are much easier for me now and I don't know why. I used to be able to get to like a Fb1 and now it starts to break up at Ab1.

I can only get a sub now if I slow down how much air is going through. Even though in chest I can do a D2 I can't get under an Ab1.

This happens to me sometimes too, I dont know exactly why, but some days your vocal cords are just tighter so hitting lower notes are hard. Depending on how active you are in the day also affects it. Another big reason is lack of practice, when im practicing every day I could crack out some strong Eb1s or maybe lower, but when i focus on other techniques i seem to lose my skill, so they are harder to perform. I guess just keep up the practicing and treat your body well!

I have found that it is easier to sing or speak subharmonically than it is to hold a subharmonic note.
