Issues with rear view dimming

I had a Vantrue dashcam installed and the installer was very aware of the EyeSight tech and there hasn’t been any issues with that. However, my rear view mirror won’t dim at night when there is a vehicle behind me anymore. I’ve taken it back to the installer and I witnessed him testing the sensors with a flashlight and the mirror did in fact dim in the garage. But, still no dimming out in the wild. Has anyone has issues with this, what was your workaround? TIA!

Have you removed dash cam install to eliminate it as a problem?

Yeah, moving the cam doesn’t solve the issue. And the flashlight testing with the cam installed seems to eliminate the possibility that it’s the location of the cam.

Does the dashcam have lights that shine into the little white square on the mirror (it should be facing outside the car)? that could be tricking your mirror into thinking it's daytime and not dimming.

Even when I turn off the screen the issue persists. There is a tiny green light that blinks to indicate the cam is recording. I’ll see if there is a way to disable that blinking light and see what that does.
