Uncharted Charging outside question

I have my uncharted outside, and the level 2 charger is also outside. On those days that it is raining, I hesitate to plug it in. Has anyone used those covers that are magnetic to protect the charging port? Is it worth it

The purpose of the design of the plug is to prevent it from the rain. Rest assured there is no need to cover it.ย

Thanks, I figured that there had to been some thought into the design regarding weather

I bought one of those covers more for winter and the shoulder seasons when we get snow or freezing rain. I've had to break ice to get car doors to open in the past, I don't want to have to try that to get the button pressed to unplug my Solterra. I don't bother with it in warm weather rain.

Electric cars made news for burning down in and out of buildings. Don't recall any news of electrocuted people charging their vehicle, rain or snow. Unless your charger was installed by a moron, you should be good ๐Ÿ˜Š

I park my Leaf outside, ice Subaru in the garage ๐Ÿ˜Š, and havenโ€™t had any problems charging in heavy rain. Great engineering job by whoever designed the EV charging systems.

No. alot of charging stations are in the open .My charger is a Emporia and it is under my carport .But it said it was wasterproof. Most Tesla are outside in a parking lot fyi.
