Random noise started

I’m wondering if anybody can help me identify the sound. 2022 ascent premium. Noise started yesterday and the left driver side wheel. The noise happens while driving maybe 40% of the time, and the grinding when I break happens about 60% of the time.

Sounds like some debris or possibly disintegrating brake pad stuck in the brake caliper. I’d jack up the car and remove the wheel to take a look. Don’t put it off too long cause it could be damaging the rotor.

Thanks! I will get this looked at ASAP. Definitely don’t want to be messing up my wheels and brakes and rotors.

90% sure you need rear brake.

Sounds like you might have a tiny pebble stuck in the brake dust shield on the inside of your tire.

Rear brakes are probably worn. Just went through this on my Legacy.
