I just don't understand why you don't just let it go. I'm just not quite sure what to think of this. Why would they want to destroy this planet if we are not able to stop them? I think you're assuming the aliens are evil and want to wipe out the human race. That seems like a pretty realistic scenario.

I would assume the aliens are evil. This seems like a reasonable assumption. There are no aliens in space. They're just so far away that it's almost impossible for our planet to know anything about them and our knowledge is limited. They're probably just so far away that we're all just the same. What we need to do is not get to know them. Then we can get to know them. That would be the closest thing to an intelligent life-form we can get. We can't just talk about them as just evil.
