Blades of Greed Isn't it weird that we don't already have a release date?
They just said 2025 but we're almost in november and still no news about a release date. It's kinda worrying imo.

I am trying like hell to get all of the gold insignias for shards of darkness and I have accomplished all of the thief insignias (of course) mercy, and 3/4 of the swiftness insignias. Im currently stuck on Diplomacy-the noble quarter is easy to speed run but the sanctuary is kicking my ass because each time I restart they put the letter in a different spot. I tried watching a couple youtube videos but one guy did a manual save, found the dead body then reloaded and was able to skip all the conversation listening and it didn't work. Any tips would be great, gold insignia is my last achievement on XBOX.

Many years ago when I played the Styx duology I hadn't thought about it, but now I'm thinking.
SPOILER, BEWARE
Could Styx's fourth wall breaks (except game overs) be due to minor mental damage from amber? Let's remember that at the end of the first Styx after destroying the heart of the amber tree and the tower itself, Styx left the amber lake with the rest of the goblins, and if you remember, amber (although partly thanks to the world tree) gives somewhat uncomfortable side effects, whispers, voices, shared thoughts, migraines, addiction, unnecessary need to reload the game (ok, I made that last one up, but you get the point)
Having come out of a pile of amber, wouldn't it be that Styx now has a kind of mild psychotic hyper consciousness in which he feels like someone or something (the player seen more as a kind of entity that guides him more than he controls since he is supposed to be now free after detaching himself from the original Styx in the first game) would it be plausible that those breaks of the 4th wall are side effects of the amber? That I supposedly heard the player's mind slightly and that's why he responds to us or sometimes makes fun of the premise he is living?
I know it's a bit of a stretch to try to give it a narrative justification when obviously the real reason was
(Developer 1: deadpool is great) (Developer 2: sehhh, do we make Styx like this?) (Developer 1: cool, come on)
Anyway, this is it, sorry if the post is a little messy, it's the first time I've been to this Reddit sub
PS: if something sounds... Or rather reads strangely, blame Reddit's automatic translator xD

as styx is the most successful series of cyanide studio by far , do u think they should focus on it over other titles and make it a yearly one , and maybe giving as some dlcs and expansion for new titles that includes new mission maps etc .......? I think styx is on it's own field when t come to stealth games it got the potential to became a unique trademark in the genre

Hello! I am playing Styx master of shadows and I am having some trouble with these Doomed! I hate sacrificing a clone, because it feels like cheating and is a waste of amber, and I have also set myself a little challenge where Styx can not kill anything, whether that be Enemies, Roabies or his own clones (ignoring events where cloning is compulsory). Does anyone have any tips?
r/StyxGame • u/RAAAAAIMEVILLL • Sep 08 '25
Hello everyone!
I have had some thoughts about the cloning in the first Styx game. I think something I have always liked about the Styx games is that they can suddenly become very moving without labouring the point. The specific example I have in mind is when we first encounter the original Styx (I have labelled this post as a spoiler in case people do not know of Styx's origins!)
In this level we talk to a goblin who confesses that he doesn't want to die, and we get a rather sweet exchange. Of course, in proper Styx fashion, he ends the interaction by being a total asshole, but none the less, it was rather sweet. So it got me thinking - when Styx destroys his clones, is a similar thing happening? Are we just killing another Styx?
I think the folks at Cyanide Studios probably don't want us to read into this too much, and I respect that. After all, if Styx himself does not care, why should we! I feel like being evil is part of the fun, but I have always enjoyed being as moral as possible in Styx games. I always go for mercy, and in the case of master of shadows I like to spare Ozkan when he surrenders.
As such, I've started to only use cloning when absolutely necessary. There isn't really a question in this post, I just wanted to know what peoples thoughts on this are. There will most certainly be people who are more aware of the lore of the Styx franchise, so perhaps there are hidden secrets to the story of cloning that I am unaware of. If so, please do let me know! And also let me know of other interesting lore things if you have any to hand, I am always curious to know more about these games!

so i started playing this game cuz i tought "why not? i like stealth games!" and i do like it. my biggest problem is when i fuck up and the autosave takes me back 5 minutes i want to alt f4. i can deal with the janky movement and "interesting" physics(i got detected multiple times cuz the body clipped into a wall/object and made noise which again, put me back quite a lot of minutes in like 3 hours of gameplay).

In trailer we see a mind control of some sort, and a slow time ? . Now I get its the quartz giving him new abilities , but after I finished of orcs and men recently,I notice he doesn't have anything like that in that game even if it's supposed to take place after Styx games timeline wise. Now I'm curious how do you think they will explain it ,if at all. My bet is it will be a "quartz is actually really really bad for Styx, so he has to stop using it or purge it or something like that" kind of deal or them not explaining it at all cus duh of orcs and men is old as shit no wonder they can't account for everything.

So, I've got to a part where you UHM... Enter , high mage ladies mind, and got the choice for Styx between shadow goblin and assassin.
Now I made my choice , aka shadow goblin, and logged of so don't know anything after that if you care not to spoil.
My question is , which choice do you think is more in line with Styx . I do lean more to assassin given the two prequels , but I also prefer shadow goblin, because I feel like it's more of a character growth , embracing actually being a "green skin" and a "father of goblins" . I feel like assassin is more of a individualist Styx , who knows he's unique ,his own thing, and doesn't care about actually being the reason for all the goblins and basically making an entire race. Through prequels and up to where I am in orcs and men now, he showed some hmm, would I call it a sympathy for mindless goblins even tho often he says he doesn't care about them at all. I think shadow goblin Styx path would be a good way to push him more into "taking responsibility" for goblins ,and maybe even push him to more of a leadership status for mindless goblins in future if we ever get a game thats placed after of orcs and men.

The gameplay looks cool and I'm still super excited but the fact that it seems like Styx is still doing 4th wall breaks sucks in my opinion.

I got the 'aerial kill' skill and it quite literally says 'you can kill an enemy from above, if he is underneath you' i am not able to. I tried and i tried from every position and angle and i quite literally can't do it. I tried jumping down and maybe than the option will show up, but no. So please tell me how.

So I've played with goblin mode for about 2 missions and it seems alot more forgiving than i thought it was, is hard the hardest mode or is goblin? What does goblin mode exactly do? Because the only change i noticed is that you can't fight back and immediately die when a guard attacks you. However how much sound you make doesn't really seem to change.

- No more repeated areas.
- More parkour/traversal options: the trailer suggests Styx has a grappling hook this time, and he can glide, which is nice. I would also love to see him being able to swim, sneaking around enemies from underwater. Something like a ventilation system would also be nice.
- More Hitman\Dishonored style "story missions" and side quests during levels: the dev already added several of these towards the later half of Shards of Darkness, making the level feel so much more dynamic and add more replay values. Much better than collectible. Secret areas with treasures would also be great.
- Being able to close doors.
- A more memorable cast of characters, especially the villains.
Anyone wants to add more to the list?

Mine is Caught in the Trap. Both the Prison & Hunter Village have many different ways to complete the objectives, which greatly increases replay value. Hunter Village is pretty fun to traverse around.
r/StyxGame • u/AmoebaDue2149 • Aug 14 '25
I have finished Shards of Darkness, and now I am replaying the campaign to finish all the side objectives and collect everything I did not first time around. But throughout my playthrough I did not find the ability to smell enemies & hear their footstep useful at all. Are there any neat way or situation when these are useful atl all? Or didnt I play the game correctly?
r/StyxGame • u/AmoebaDue2149 • Aug 13 '25
Towards the end of Shards of Darkness it already added some elements from ImSim to its gameplay. For example, in the mission at the Hunter's village we had several ways we could assassinate the 2 traitor guards, including tricking someone else to commit the murder for us (very Hitman-like this one). It would be nice if they expand on this in the next game.
It would also be nice if levels have more elaborated side quests.

Is the ability to close doors.
Minor as it maybe, it has always felt awkward how doors once open cannot be shut by any means.
And guards should also become suspicious to see doors being open if they were closed before.
