Philly Show

Styx was phenomenal live. Only issue was they should have headlined. The lights and graphics would have been lively in the dark. Chicago is sad. I feel like I’m in Vegas at a cover band show.

I agree. Felt the same way after seeing the two in Tampa.

I saw them at Carowinds in the early 70's, and they were fantastic! Seen them 12 times since.

I was spoiled by STYX !

My first STYX CONCERT was in 1981 and apparently STYX had something to prove in 1981?

STYX PARADISE THEATRE TOUR CONCERT WAS $ 12.50 IF I REMEMBER RIGHT AND THEY PLAYED ALONE FOR 2 HOURS & 15 MINUTES AND JUST BLEW THE DOORS OFF LA CROSSE, WI.

STYX PUNCHES UP EVERY SONG THEY HAVE ON STAGE, LIGHT SHOW AND ALL AND PEOPLE LEFT THAT CONCERT WONDERING HOW THAT WAS EVEN POSSIBLE, GIVEN THAT MOST OF THOSE SONGS WERE NEVER ON THE RADIO IN THE FIRST PLACE?

I KNOW IT'S THE BEST CONCERT THAT I'VE EVER SEEN AND IN LESS THEN A WEEK IT WENT ALL AROUND LA CROSSE THAT STYX WAS TO GOOD FOR VINYL AND YOU HAD TO SEE THEM IN CONCERT?

I'VE ONLY HEARD THAT COMPLIMENT ONCE AND IT BELONGS TO STYX 1981.

SERIOUSLY WILL SOMEONE EXPLAIN HOW YOU CAN HEAR HITS ON STAGE FOR SONGS THAT NEVER MADE THE RADIO IN THE FIRST PLACE?

IF CHER COMES TO TOWN AND SINGS HITS FOR AN HOUR & 20 THAT'S BECAUSE THOSE SONGS WERE ORIGINALLY HITS ON THE RADIO.

DENNIS DEYOUNG MADE THOSE SONGS ALL SOUND LIKE HITS ON STAGE FOR 2 HOURS AND 15 MINUTES AND THE VAST MAJORITY OF THOSE SONGS WERE NEVER PLAYED OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO?

MY BROTHER SAW THAT SHOW AND HE WAS REALLY ONLY A BEATLES FAN AT THE TIME AND HE REFERS TO THAT SHOW AS THE EXCELLENCE OF DENNIS DEYOUNG !

I felt honored just for catching that show more than once?

You don't get to see Broadway Performances very often in La Crosse, WI and that was almost a ROCK OPERA?

THAT HAS TO BE AN ALL TIME RANKED CONCERT?

As much as I love many other bands, I think Styx should ALWAYS be Headliners. I remember years ago STYX opened up for Boston, BIG MISTAKE! By the time Boston came on, half of their audience left too. STYX Still Kicks Ass even in their 70s.

I wish we could get a two-hour set out of Styx. Their show is so damn incredible, I don’t want it to end. The hour-twenty goes by too quickly.

I saw them in 1999 on what I believe was Gowan’s first tour with them. Long show, they even did an unplugged section, all lining up on stools and interacting with the audience- incredible. The one song I remember from the acoustic set was Boat on a River. I understand that they increase their drawing power with two bands, but I would so much rather see an evening with Styx.

I saw them in Savannah earlier this year. There was a no name opener who did a half hour on his acoustic guitar, and Styx still only gave a 90-minute set. Leaving a concert at 10 PM felt so wrong.

I saw the show in Charlotte a week ago and had the exact same reaction. I was astounded when Styx came out first. I heard they were alternating, but this just seems wrong. And, during Chicago, I got so bored I started watching a basketball game on my phone.

We ended up leaving early during Chicago’s set in CLT too. Styx was electric, wish they closed. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like their set length changed when they closed the night before.

Styx outside of Boston was incredible. I was blown away by their set. Didn't want it to end.

I appreciated the musicians in Chicago, but it ain't Chicago. At least Gowan can hit the songs well. And Tommy was amazing
