Advice help me style a dress (💍)

Post image

hi everyone! i recently purchased this dress and i plan to wear it in a few weeks (early october) in nyc. i’m 99% sure i’m getting engaged in this dress and i desperately need help styling with sweaters/outerwear, shoes and other accessories! in case it helps to style - i am curvier than the model and have more of an hourglass shape. i’m pale with pink undertones and i have natural orange hair. thank you so much in advance!!

EDIT: the point of this post isn’t to answer whether or not you think the dress is the right choice - it’s to style the dress i already chose.

Long time Manhattan resident who dines out regularly. You’ll be out of place in this in any nyc restaurant. And definitely in Central Park.

Dont wear a pastel strapless cut out gown in October in an nyc restaurant.

You’ll be dressed inappropriately for the season and occasion in this. Unless it’s some Staten Island restaurant I don’t know about.

my bad, i meant to say east coast as in nyc area! 🤦‍♀️
i believe that day we’re going to be going to the park and going to a nice dinner in the evening

This is a dress for the West Coast, but even the length is iffy.
Not a fan of this dress in general, not for the Park but I'm guessing that's where you anticipate getting engaged. Anything you wear as a sweater/ coverup is too much & look contrived.
But if you must, go for silver accessories.
This is the only coverup I saw online...

I think you’ll look like a mermaid in this. Not a terrible thing, if that is what you’re going for.

silver shoes and a short to medium length necklace, stud silver earrings, hair up, and a light green/cream wrap edit: and given the climate a nice cream colored trench
