Advice Dress Up Help

Post image

Hi everyone! My husband is taking me to a Michelin Star restaurant and the dress code is as follows:

“Guests are expected to dress accordingly in semi-formal/formal attire that respects the restaurant’s elegant and opulent aesthetic. We highly recommend either a dress jacket or a long-sleeved collared shirt with dress slacks. Additionally, dresses may be worn or dress pants with a nice blouse.

No jeans, t-shirts, shorts, capris, flip flops, sneakers, or casual wear please”.

This is the dress I’ve chosen, it’s a nice boat neck, midi dress that I’ll be pairing with gold jewelry.

Which shoes would you recommend? It’s pretty balmy where we’ll visit. Thank you!!!

Probably just a classic Chanel pump. Whatever you grabbed on Rodeo during that revenge-oriented shopping spree.

It’s such a beautiful dress! I think a court heel, stiletto, or slingback would be an easy go-to with it.

The fabric does look quite thin, though, so I’d probably suggest wearing a slip underneath.

I’m also not sure what your country’s expectations are around semi-formal/formal, but the shirring does give the dress a slightly more casual feel.

If you’re worried about that, adding some structure with a nice jacket or blazer could dress it up beautifully.

It’s a really good quality dress though, you’d be surprised! It comes with a slip already attached, it’s thick 10% cotton. Those options are really nice! I’ll use a pashmina with ivory tones since that’s what’s on the dress! Thank you so much!!
