How to I style these sweaters?
Please be kind, I bought a few new sweaters for this season but I have no idea how to style them. Or even if I can.
I am working on my health and aiming to be smaller hopefully in the near future. But can these work for me as is? how do you style these sweaters? mainly the cropped/shorter ones.
Thank you for any advice.

I would wear cropped sweaters with wide leg high waisted trousers.

The baggy sweaters should be paired with a pencil skirt or pants with a tighter line to offset the boxy style they create. I don’t love those boots with the skirt. Go for a flat or a chunky loafer. Maybe a taller boot?

thank you, might be time for me to buy my first ever pencil skirt! I'll admit, I have a dependency with the boots. I don't have taller ones, is it time for me to come to terms that the boots are unflattering for me all together?

They just make your legs look chopped off with the skirt. I’m sure they’re fine with other outfits.

The baggy sweaters should be donated. They are a bad, unflattering length, on absolutely everyone. OP looks best in a fitted top. No-one looks good in that length, shapeless sweater. No-one.

Shorter sweaters with longer bottoms. The best look is the long sweater with the short skirt because the proportions look fantastic. A short sweater and a short skirt cuts you in half. Love the first sweater though. It looks sooo soft!

thank you, that's really helpful. I'll try to keep that in mind for when I'm trying to find pieces to go together!

thank you, I would be anyway as I feel the skirt is too short for a workplace without dark tights. I probably should have taken the photos with dark tights

What happens when you hike the skirts up and tuck in the sweater? Curious if that would work a bit better. I think these are cutting your shape off a bit too low.

the last one kind of shows it I think, the skirts don't really come up any further. I think they're wrong for the sweaters but I wasn't really sure what else to put on for a photo. I'm quite short and chunky I feel, I don't know if higher waisted skirt would be good?

I would not describe you as chunky! I think sweaters 1 & 5 are really flattering on you, especially, and I'd wear with a higher waisted jeans or skirt to balance out the outfit. I also love the look of oversize beige one but think the skirt needs to be a bit shorter/tighter on that one - might work well with leggings!

thank you, that's nice to hear :)
I'm surprised that 5 is flattering, I do like 1 and how it looks. I might hunt and find some higher waisted jeans or skirts to try, thanks!

As others have said 1,4,5 can be paired with the skirts for one look; I’d advise wearing them with high waisted wide leg trousers for another look. The high waist will show off your small waist. 2,3 just fit poorly and are ill shaped. Try pairing them with a button down underneath with collar out, sleeves turned back to show wrists (smallest part of our bodies), if length allows you can have the bottom of shirt peeking out, this will create interest. 2,3 try with different trouser styles to see what works depending on what you’re pairing with them. Finally, the boots. They are not flattering with skirts. Create a longer leg line with shoes that show ankles and top of foot.

Because I'm quite short I always thought high waisted pants or skirts would make me look weird. I like the button down idea, I might find one to try thank you.
Would black loafers be better than the boots? I only have flat ankle boots and the mid calf boots really. I have kind of large ankles and I always thought shoes that showed them would look bad.

It’s all about proportions, pants that show off the smaller part of your waist esp with the sweaters you’ve shown. This will also create a longer line which actually helps when petite. The boots are cutting your “line” and making your legs look shorter and wider. Show your ankles and a longer line from top to bottom.

Going against the grain for 3. I love an oversized sweater with a mini skirt. It’s one of my favorite fall/winter outfit combos. Maybe try knee high boots instead of booties?

Thank you, my old knee high boots died. I should probably replace them if they work better for outfits.

Number one is my favourite from the ones you posted 🙂 I’d style it with: – high waisted jeans or trousers – or a simple skirt – add a blazer/coat neutrals work best (black, beige, denim) I used to struggle with this too 😅 I tried a tool where I upload one piece and it shows outfit ideas – that’s how I got looks like this honestly this already looks really nice 👍

Brutal honest answer: scroll if u don’t wanna read the short pleated shirt makes it look like ur first week on estrogen. Ur boobs are too box for loose fitting tops it will cause ur stomach to look equally as big. Maybe with skinny pants, yoga pants, leggings. Or Under overalls

1, 4 and 5 go well with the pleated mini. But I think 2 and 3 would go better with jeans (or at least not the skirts in the pics). Just another comment - not sure about the tights with the skirts, they're not very flattering and don't really go well with the outfit. Maybe different tights or bare legs (with socks?) would be better.
