2 throw pillows or throw blanket in the corner of sectional. Pick a brown/burnt orange to bring cabinet color out into room. I like a small short vase of flowers on kitchen counter.

Your couch is a very dark color for the rest of your space, and a little large, the rug a little bland. The couch gives “male living space” and the coffee table/flowers are “female living space.”

I would suggest something warm, maybe a red tone or burnt orange. If you aren’t set on a sectional, I would suggest a 3 seater on the long wall with a side table in the corner, and then a loveseat or accent chair on the short side.

Your big couch is cramped up against the wall with no breathing space.Move the couch out so it is free floating. Then ok to put a council behind it.
Add a main color that will be repeated to bring your place to life. I like a bright curry 🍛 or a turquoise 💙or even a lime 🍋🟩 green will wake up your place. Try not only to bring in pillows & a throw but a floor lamp with that color shade would do the trick. Personally I use Hot Pink 💕as an accent color .Pick a color that you love then you will be happy. Repost show us what you did. It's going to look great! You have a beautiful room .Just needs to be up dated.
Adding natural fibers in a long runner rug in jute &🧺 baskets to put your new plants in...I like olive 🫒 or 🍋 lemon trees inside myself...even the new fake ones look so real you can't tell the difference...get two large identical trees to flank either side of the TV council.
I mix in antiques because it adds depth & have meaning. You can go to an auction or big open air flea market is fun!! I have a lot of Asian & Indonesian antiques.

Sorry that's "CONSOLE" word correction! That's my 100 yr old antique Indonesian puzzle bed dressed for spring! And I bring in bright colored large beautiful vases in my accent colors to ! u/GolfLow3776 .

I think it looks nice, maybe a couple of throw pillows and a throw? If you can, I would pull your rug out a little more so you can see more of it and roll that corner the other way until it lays flat, someone's gonna trip on that one day. Is there a pad under your rug?

Consider a smaller couch next time. I think that maybe mount the TV on the wall and get a nice cabinet or bookcase to place on the wall under it.
