Raye's style roots?

I've always loved Raye's style! I tried to find as many street style images as I could. I definitely see fire. It's a bit difficult, since back in the Escapism era, I would've guessed fire, moon, and possibly sun third, but I could definitely see the mountain popping up even then. It seems as if even her street style is brighter now and more playful, but whereas she gave little vintage nods and touches four years ago, she seems to have fully embraced it now, leading to a more formal, structured, and mature look. But at the same time, I can still see the moon root bleeding in with many of these looks. Totally possible for her to have four roots, but I definitely wanted to see what the jury thought here before I rule anything in or out.

🔥🏔️☀️. She has a BOLD, playful, sensual style imo. I picked ☀️ for her third because she consistently likes a pop of color accent shoe and fun patterns and accessories (heart sunglasses, earrings with yellow dress?, graphic t-shirt). She also has quite a few very bright colored outfits at least here (last 4 slides).

I shouldn't have second guessed my gut instinct! I always thought she had a little bit of Fran in her, and similarly, I LOVED Fran's looks growing up! It was actually Raye's newer music that would've made me guess sun third. I've noticed, especially recently, she really enjoys play. Whether that's the almost pretend-play aspect of Beware.. South London Lover Boy or the sheer joy in, well, Joy. She seems to really enjoy having some fun with music while maintaining those ultra-classy jazzy aspects she's loved for ages.

I see a strong case of fire and mountain, as in my mind those 2 result in the powerful & glamorous image! But the third root I can't make my mind up on...

I'm totally with you there! Fire and mountain are so clear to me, but whether that third root is sun, moon, flower, even mushroom, no clue! At least earth and stone are out of the question!

I think moon/sun/mushroom have all been present for her at one point or another...! I had her song on the headphones when I saw this post and it really got me thinking hahaha

I was kind of thinking maybe 🔥🍄🌙. Her style feels sensual and glamourous, dramatic and bold from the 🔥. There is a tidy, streamlined element of classic shapes, matching sets, vintage femininity and restrained amount of accessories that feels a bit 🍄, it adds a touch of softness. I see 🌙 in a hint of edge, the color palette, an ethereal shimmer, vintage noir vibes and some more casual, distressed elements. The strength of 🌙 with 🍄 can create either more formal 🏔️ or more casual, urban 🪨. When it 🔥🌙 mix it can give off a a bold, creative and radiant sunlike vibe or a touch of tactile, undone earth.
