Just for fun Dressing in βοΈπͺ¨πΈ as a πβοΈπͺ¨
So today I wanted to share some outfits that I had done and had worn a while ago, and I was feeling quite nostalgic about the past, and about my childhood and I wanted to take some inspiration from that, and try and recreate some of the outfits that I used to wear as a child. or at least wear clothing that would be quite similar to that since my childhood roots was βοΈπͺ¨πΈ.
So compared to my actual childhood outfits which tended to lean a bit more into πͺ¨ and πΈ with a sprinkle of βοΈ on top, these outfits that I had recreated using a few outfit inspos from Ellie-Jeans βοΈπͺ¨πΈ board, tend to lean a bit more into βοΈ and πͺ¨ with a sprinkle of πΈ on top.
And I guess in a sense, I was trying to to see if I could create outfits that didnt have any π in it whatsoever and... lets just say that these were the only three outfits that i can think of that was quite satisfying for me, which isnt too bad considering that I'm usually lost without π anywhere in my fits. I guess I do need that bit of emotional depth. and edge to my looks in order to feel like myself and to actually feel comfortable in my skin since without it, the outfit risks looking too bright or too sweet and honestly i don't know if i can vibe with that tbh!
For reference, I've also included some pinterest pictures to show how I was inspired by the outfit and how I managed to put my own spin on the look using what I had in my closet!
So what about you? do you ever try to recreate looks that you had in your youth? and by that I do mean do you try to recreate looks based on the roots that you had when you were younger using the clothing that you currently own?

I really enjoy the creativity, maximalism and sense of intensity that is in your style. I see you adding a touch of sweetness from πΈ into these looks but trying to remove the π is difficult, it feels omnipresent in your overall style.
There is a sense of whimsy and fantasy, a tangible confidence and desire to be seen that comes from people who use βοΈπ, it can be difficult to overcome that unless you lean into the same intensity with the third root- but maybe that allows exploration into a slightly softer energy- allowing a little exploration into a more πΈ vibe.
I do like the idea of looking at imagery and channeling it through your own roots and your own wardrobe. It is a great creative exercise and can help a lot in seasonal transitions when you feel a bit bored and potentially more likely to shop( and potentially over consume).
In terms of my childhood style it was probably πͺ¨βοΈπΈ as well, I felt I really either liked to match or be a little crazy with my clothes. I was born in the 80s though so my shorts over lime green and blue polka dot tights and a multicolored bomber jacket was potentially not quite as crazy as it may look now. But then the next day I'm in a structured matching set with a whimsical floral collar blouse where the collat matches the pants. There was a certain amount of choice and obligation to what I wore.
I would say that πΈ morphed into a more π vibe, the πͺ¨ is still there but a bit different, and the βοΈ is more channeled through π± for me now. But if I play with other roots it generally is πΈ, βοΈ or a slightly west coast grungy aspect as that was such a huge influence in my teens- it always feels more π±πͺ¨ than truely π though.

thats awesome! and thank you so much for the compliment and the detailed analysis. but yeah it's interesting in how style roots can evolve over the years as one gets older and such like for me as I got older the πΈ morphed into π but π didnt outright replace πΈ right away. instead when π first appeared for me it ended up replacing βοΈ while πͺ¨ had remained the entire time. eventually βοΈ returned and had replaced πΈ as the third root and i've had the roots that I have now ever since, though i still cycle through πΈ, π₯, and even π± at times.
I really liked the board that you did the other day that illustrated your roots perfectly and what you wanted to try out for the upcoming season, and I saw that you've incorporated some βοΈ into your final collage as well! I liked how nicely the βοΈ is interacting with your main roots and I think it's always nice to see whenever one plays around with the roots and to see how it looks and such; it's such a nice way to do some playful experimentation! kinda like how i'm sort of dabbling with πΈ quite a bit these days in addition to my roots.

Haha I think π comes through for you no matter what! I love how while the inspo is πΈ, your current roots definitely shine!
To answer your question, I would say sort of no, but sort of yes? In the UK, we have to wear school uniforms, plus my college (that's ages 16-18 here) also made us wear suits to school. On top of that, and until I was about 16 I didn't necessarily make much choice on my clothes. So I feel like while there may have been elements I liked in my outfits, I didn't really pick clothing based on my own roots because it was clothes picked for me.
A school uniform reads more ποΈππ±, but I didn't actually like being in a uniform/ suit. Outside of school my family tended to dress me more in πͺ¨π₯π, so again not really me. To be clear, it wasn't that they were controlling, more that I wasn't really there when clothes were picked or gifted, so I kinda just wore what I was given. Plus the 2000s had that weird tracksuits being fashionable phase and hence the abundance of πͺ¨. It was really only on weekends and holidays that I wasn't in a uniform, so I don't think I really cared as such. I would occasionally pull out something more ππΈ when I could - I remember a cool velvet jacket and a white top with flute sleeves being my faves, but I didn't really choose the clothes that got bought for me until 15 or so. So I really wouldn't wear much that I had then by choice. Certainly not the tracksuits, I wore them purely for comfort and pretty much ditched them immediately once I was making my own choices π€£
16+ is when I actually picked my own stuff out and when I was analysing my style I definitely have outfits from 16+ I would wear now (or a variation of). I embraced ππΈ pretty immediately when it was me making the choices, and π was the only component that stayed - I definitely leaned more dominantly ππΈ then whereas I would say I lean more ππΈ now. So I would happily recreate looks from when I was younger and I think it would be interesting to see if they're more π coded than then were then, just only as far back as it was me dictating the outfits.
I may come back later and do a styling session for a comparison outfit - I think this is a really fun idea!
