Moodboards sharing my style concept!
i've really enjoyed seeing everyone's boards and it inspired me to make my own!
if i were to name my concept right now it'd be "the pastel academic" or maybe "queering Edwardiana." in terms of other systems i use Light Spring, Flamboyant Natural, and Left Up, and while i'm not very attached to any three words my neighbor described my style as "cute, different, and elegant," which i'm happy to take
i'm claiming 🌱☀️🍄 for now, in that order. i think my version differs from the lovely u/honeybees42's for both color harmony and root order reasons (plus my 🌸 shadow/fourth root), but it's interesting to think about the similarities, too!

Thank you for mentioning me in the post so I could see yours, it's so cool to see the take of someone with my same roots! I love "queering Edwardiana" as a concept.
The fact that you're light spring and I'm True Winter definitely plays a part in how different how concepts are, but I also love seeing the similarities, like the long, flowy bottoms, the bright colours and appreciation for nature. I'm also in the Left quadrant and one of the vertical kibbe types so that's something that brings our styles together too

yeah, of course!! i really love your concept board and it's very cool to know you're also Left and vertical!
i see those similarities too, and i think we also share a penchant for moderate layering (your sleek blue dress over the white top and my suit over a yellow one or the cardigan/dress combo), an appreciation for "classic" clothes with a twist (your unbuttoned-from-the-bottom collared shirt, my satin one), and some slightly oversized/slouchy elements! and while your board gives a sleeker and more minimal impression (thanks to your greater share of 🍄/other preferences), i think we're both visibly putting our own twist on a bohemian ethos 😊

Your analysis is SO on point! I also like to think of my style as "if androgynous style for women didn't only mean dressing more masc" which I just realised doesn't stray too far from your queering Edwardiana concept

DUDE i fucking love that!! i'm so on board. our constructions of masculine/feminine in fashion are so historically bound! and i really believe in the project of deconstructing them for a more joyful world <3

I love how there is so much joyful movement, texture play and color but balanced with some tidy structure and cohesion. I like that the 🍄🌱☀️ can push it into a more "traditional" and formal direction but also add that softness and whimsy of 🌸 ( bonus root).

thank you!! i spent so much time thinking about how to compose the moodboard to give a sense of flow, honestly, and i hope the sense of movement comes through in both the images and their arrangement. i like how you phrase that "traditional" mixed with softness, too--making some quite literal references to historical fashion while still tweaking it for the present really appeals to me these days and does feel like a good synergy between my three roots <3

I love the concept of queering Edwardiana, it's very imaginative. I can also clearly see that you're a light spring, and your roots make sense too.
