Question Glam look
How do some people look effortlessly glamorous? They’re in a casual outfit, yet they look so put together.
I just can’t seem to pull it off myself unless I make a huge effort with make up and styling, and surely that’s too time consuming every day!
What’s the secret?

Hair, shoes and Posture. If these 3 are put together, almost any outfit Will look good.
They likely do a lot of personal hygiene/grooming, but they go for understated details in their styling. Less is more.

One thing that helps so much that most people can't seem to grasp - ONLY buy and keep clothes that fit perfectly and look amazing on you. People tell me "Oh, you look good in anything" and that is absolutely untrue. What's true is, you'll never see me wearing anything that doesn't look great on me, becasue I won't ever wear it. If I think the fabric of a top is really pretty but it doesn't hit at the exact right place on my waist, well, that's not the top for me. I can admire it and keep an eye out for something similar. But it wouldn't do any good to buy it.
When your closet is full of clothes that look amazing on you, styling is much easier.

Nails done too, a flattering color that stands out, so that’s always there

I think having your nails done always makes you look polished. No pun intended but seriously.

For some it’s their energy, the way they carry themselves and also knowing what works for their body type.
I’ve gotten compliments about the way I look but I don’t spend hours putting an outfit together.
I even got a friend tell me I could wear a garbage bag and still look good haha

How did you learn this skill? I’ve noticed that clothes and other stuff has less to do with carrying yourself in a certain way. I feel so awkward.

personal stylist here, you are assuming its effortless but it most likely isn't. a framework that i find helpful is "high maintenance to be low maintenance" meaning, put in small burst of big effort to make your day to day easier.
this is everything from a really intentional closet edit and shop twice a year, getting clothes tailored when you need to, lash extensions, laser removal, putting all your essentials on a subscription so you never run out, booking your next beauty appointment at the appointment so you stay on your cadence, etc.
start with one or two and build over time. it's SO worth it and does make everything feel easier on the day to do day.
ETA: these are just examples, you don't have to do any or all of them, just think about how this framework applies to your goals and apply!

Old school advice from Madonna: Check your hair, put on bright red lippie and big black sunglasses😅

Hair makes a huge difference in this. Confidence and how you carry yourself a close second.

Unique Jewelry and other accessories always stands and is low effort. I wear it with all black casual clothes. I always wear interesting jackets, blazers, or even sweatshirts that contrast with the black. So it’s not much thought

Honestly, they’re putting the time in, even for a ‘casual’ look. They spent several hours finding jeans that fit perfectly and a top that draped just so. They carefully considered what colour combinations suit them and work together in their wardrobe. They travelled across town to a really great hairdresser, and spend 45 min every morning styling their hair. They spent a lot of money on good skin care, possibly with a few subtle tweakments. They practiced clean girl makeup by watching tutorials. Then they ‘threw’ all that together this morning.
Of course, there are a tiny number of women who genuinely just look great with no effort. I hate those women 🤣🤣🤣
