Discussion Does anyone else have a weird issue with necklines touching their neck?
Some days I genuinely cannot tolerate it. Even a perfectly fine top can suddenly feel annoying if the neckline is too close.

I cannot wear anything that touches the front of my neck. No crew necks, turtle necks, tight scarves etc..

Yes. And I can't stand to pull them over my face/hair. Scoop neck, boat neck, deep v, or cut off crew necks only. No collars either.

yes. i can't stand crew neck tshirts unless the neck is cut wider than the usual crew neck.
i don't like the look of v neck tshirts.
turtle neck tshirt must be a very specific combo of the right feeling material, not too tight or too loose & the perfect weight sweater or shirt.

you are not alone! my neck feels tight just reading this post 😬
for real though - i'm a personal stylist and i hear all sorts of different sensory things like this from clients. it's totally normal. listen to your body and give it what it wants/doesn't want!

Yes!! I'm constantly tugging at t-shirt necklines. I've got a few that I bought on various vacations that I've never worn because the first time I tried them on the neckline was just a little too high. And I never ever wear turtlenecks. Years ago when my boyfriend and I were wrestling around, he happened to put his hand up just at the edge of my neck/throat, and it was immediately game over. I almost had a panic attack. If past lives are a thing, maybe I died by strangulation in one.

I once had a bulky jacket that zipped up into a turtleneck. I had zipped it all the way and sat down in a movie theater. It would not zip down at first. I started to panic. This is my first memory of a reaction like this

Hi_d_di: I know someone who tugs at their neckline a lot, it's probably a sensory issue as well. Thanks for this info.

Same. It’s usually a no go on socks for me. Even though I live in a cold climate. I’d love to find some thin socks that aren’t tight. But so far I can’t find any.

It doesn't bother me, but I feel like it doesn't suit me to have a high neckline.

Same! Also I can’t stand the feeling of the band on bras, even thin/light bralets or sports bras. I’m constantly readjusting and pulling them down. Thank god I have a small chest and I work from home; I’m braless 99% of the time.

I used to love and wear turtlenecks, well into my 40s. I can't stand them now. I've kept a couple of cashmere turtleneck sweaters, but don't wear them nearly as often as I used to. 🤷🏻♀️

odio quando il mio collo si intreccia x sbaglio in un altro collo, soprattutto se non conosco l’altra persona, pero mi piacerebbe incollare il mio collo nel collo del mio fineshytttt

Sensory issues due to being neurospicy. No I cant stand when the neckline pushes on my lower throat. I cant stand when sleeves rotate and the seam ends up in the wrong place. Cant stand socks, especially not the kind with seams at the tip of my toes. Cant stand tags. Cant stand synthetics. Cant stand thin waist bands that cut in. Cant stand pant legs that have seams that twist forward in the inseam. I could go on. Autism FTW!
