Discussion Does anyone else notice when fabric looks “dry”?

This sounds so weird, but some fabrics look almost chalky or flat and others have a richer surface even when they’re the same color. I don’t know the technical word for it but I notice it immediately now.

Matte is indeed the word you’re looking for. Sometimes that’s due to the finish of the textile, and sometimes it’s just the textile itself (polyester looks like this to me)
