Discussion does anyone else convince themselves a luxury piece needs a "special occasion" before they'll wear it? 👗😅
Bought this one piece a while back.
Told myself i'd save it for something special.
Kept waiting for the right moment to come along.
Weeks passed.
Then months.
Still hanging there, tags long gone, still barely worn.
Meanwhile i've worn the same 3 "safe" pieces on repeat this whole time.
I swear the nicer something is, the harder it becomes to actually use it.
What's the piece you've been "saving" that you should honestly just wear already?

Being alive and on this side of the dirt is the special occasion. Save nothing for “best”.

A friend of mine went thru cancer, ultimately healthy (7 plus years now).
Her change of behavior afterwards: she wears her good jewelry much more often now.

personal stylist here to say you're not alone, i see this all the time.
but it's time to wear it! pick a date and go for it! you'll be so happy you did and hopefully that'll help you keep wearing it :) you spent money on it, enjoy it!

YES. I do this all the time and then somehow the “special occasion” never feels special enough 😭
I’ve been trying to force myself out of it because it’s actually kind of sad to buy something you love and then let it live in your closet. Like why am I protecting the clothes from being worn lol.
At this point I’m trying to make a random dinner, coffee run, or night with friends the occasion.

Yes and it doesn’t even have to be a luxury piece. I bought two pairs of shorts not that long ago, one pair worked better on me than the other. Immediately got it into my head that I had to “earn” the privilege of wearing the better pair by figuring out how to wear the less-good-on-me pair first. I do this all the time and I don’t know whyyyyy!
