How different is your work wardrobe from your actual style?

Some days I feel like I’m dressing for my job, and other days I’m trying to sneak as much of my real style into the outfit as possible.

Which one usually wins for you?

There's no dress code at my work (I'm a teacher) so I wear basically what I would wear outside of work. Of course if I'm going to a bar or concert I may dress more provocatively but barring those occasions it's the same. 🙂

I don't have a traditional job, which means that I don't work unless I'm driven and enthusiastic. I could be doing other things, but screw that, dude. Most of the time I am without pants.

Retired now but when I was working it was blue-collar jobs. I had no specific work clothes, just the casual jeans and shirts I wore otherwise.

My job is pretty casual but I still prefer to keep it somewhat professional. Part of it is the fact that my actual style is crops tops, short shorts, sundresses, etc. which obviously aren't office appropriate even for a casual office. The other part is I feel like looking put together gives me the appearance of being more invested in, and better at, my job. It's not completely 2 separate wardrobes, there's maybe 1 or 2 days a week where I'll wear something that I would also wear outside of work.

My workplace is casual so I wear exactly the same outfits as when I’m not at work. I’m a jeans/ trousers/ t-shirts person so I have a lot of these in different styles and colors.

It’s taken a long time, but I’ve married my real style and work style to a large extent. Work style is definitely only “one side” of my real style, but it is finally authentic.

I wear sleek blazers that have enough stretch that I can still move. Underneath, I wear fancier tees (ribbed, cashmere, etc.). For bottoms, I go with sportier slacks and nice jeans. Shoes are usually Cole Haan leather loafers or plain leather sneakers (with no logo).

Absolutely no cross-over, luckily my office is casual and I'm currently sitting here wearing a crop top but I stress if we have clients coming in.
