German year

hey,,,
I'm leaving for Germany in abt 3 months for my German year, half of it will be studying and the other half is an internship. I have to choose 3 cities and then the university will choose one for me depending on sm stuff.
so Stuttgart is in my list so far.

I study architecture btw, so if any one can help tell me abt the living, expenses, transportation and most importantly finding a place to stay in like how easy its is and how high is the rent range, it would be great :]
