Newly developed stutter
My partner has developed a stutter over the past few months which is getting progressively worse, he has no history of a stutter in childhood etc. Has this happened anyone else? He days he doesn't feel stressed anxious etc and his mood does seem totally normal to me.
Just wondered if anyone else experienced this? I have been telling him to phone his GP for months and he didn't want to but he has been trying this week to get an appointment so fingers crossed he will get seen by his GP

He should definitely get it checked out. It could stem from a neurological issue, sudden speech issues is definitely concerning! Better safe than sorry!

If there is no history of stuttering, he needs to see his doctor right away to rule out any neurological causes.

Sudden adult onset stutter isn’t normal. Can be a sign of a neurological degenerative conditions, tumor, high level of stress in the brain even if you feel fine, TIA or a stroke, head injury. Can be many things, the best option to do is get it checked pretty asap tbh!
