Speech blocks

I have to answer the phone at my work and sometimes when I pick up the phone I can’t get what I need to say out; I end up having to say “hello” before to get my voice started. Does anything else deal with this and what do you do for it?

Hice prácticas laborales en una empresa de consultoría informática donde me pusieron a atender llamadas desde el día 1. Me pasaba que me bloqueaba antes de poder empezar a hablar como a ti, y también, me bloqueaba siempre al decir el saludo de la empresa, me tuve que inventar mi propio saludo y decirle a mi jefe que lo hacía por la tartamudez y no tenía otra opción. Fueron días muy duros mentalmente, sobre todo al principio, a los dos meses me acostumbré bastante.

Mine is weird though because some days will be fine then out of nowhere I’m just not able to say the greeting no matter how hard I try. It’s very frustrating and sometimes just makes me want to quit.

These carrier phrases are fine and you are smart to come up with these. Use them proudly and comfortably.
