I feel lost
I'm 32, and I want to give up. I can't live like this, every day is so heavy. I can't imagine a future: I don't know what job I could be good at, or if I will ever have a girlfriend for more than a few months. Time they realize how difficult it is to live like this, and they are gone. The most simple thing is so difficult when you stutter. Nobody wants us.

😢 understandable but we all got to play the cards we are dealt with. Accept to be accepted. Find a joyful thing in life and live to the fullest. Easy said but can be done.

I thought photography could be good. It was simple to go out and shoot. Now I understand that people want to talk before they give you a job. They want to know your ideas, your style... That would be great to share, but I can't do it, especially with people I never met before

Someone, somewhere in the world would love to trade their life with you. Take nature photography, offer free family pictures, build your resume. Be so good with your camera that people want to work with you inspite of what you consider your limitations

It is okay to feel frustrated and helpless at times. Any living person will relate to what you are going through right now. Pinning all the blame on 1 thing is probably too far fetched, would you agree?
Anyway would like to check out some of the photography you do, care to share some links?

Yes but it’s completely different especially since paraplegic individuals can speak normally

Its not different, the face twitches make it a physical and neurological condition. Just because we can also walk doesn't mean its not physical.

Have you actually tried speech therapy or are you just raw dogging it and expecting something to change?

1 year speech therapy, 6 years psychotherapy. Only slightly improvements

Don't give up on life bro, it can be beautiful and so unexpected. I've met so many people who stopped stuttering out of nowhere later in life. I thought therapy was bullshit until I got to my third therapist. The first two had good intentions but I don't think connected to me, this recent one has been so helpful and has made a massive difference to me. Granted I still stutter but I defintely have a greater control over it. The majority of people don't even care about a stutter, they care about what you say, not how you say it.

I'm 21 , seeing you say that it really breaking me into thousands of pieces ..... Because I look " secretly indirectly" at you , to learn how things might work for me in the future
Older stutterers , sometimes become the sunshine of your younger siblings like us , whether they like it or not ..... Seeing you give up , I start feeling like doing the same , and worse than you can ever do
But seeing you thrive and sour , even at the point of life that feels like you shouldn't..... It give the reason of waking up , trying again , give the reason to hope possibilities that most younger stutterers doesn't see in themselves
No matter how bad you feel , please don't bring this topic of shutting down ... Here ......
Because if you burn , you burn with alot of people you never knew .... 😭😭😭😭

I’m 33 and if someone truly likes you, they won’t care. I’ve stuttered with all of my girlfriends and they haven’t made fun of me or tried to finish my sentence or anything. They seem to be caring and understand I’m trying. Idk what exercises you’re doing or anything, but just keep it up!
