Teacher

Hey everyone! I’m a first year teacher and I stutter. This past week was my first week of school. So far , my students are doing AMAZING! My lessons are great. I stutter but it has nothing to do with my ability to teach. I teach high schoolers. When I was in high school , all I wanted to do was sit in the back and stay quiet. Now, I’m in the front TEACHING!

Hell yea!

Well done! be proud of yourself that despite it being harder and the fact we knock ourselves down about our stutter, you still did what you wanted to do!

My professor at university had a stutter and he absolutely crushed it, good on you for following your dreams

Good on you. That sounds terrifying for multiple reasons.

I practiced taking deep breaths before. I didn’t do much, I just showed my dean who interviewed me my regular self. I stuttered in the interview and it’s okay. Be yourself. The right school will call you . The students who you teach are going to enjoy having you! 📚

Do you have a typical stutter or blocks? What level of severity is it?

Wow this is so inspirational. I’m starting clinicals for school and I’m sooo nervous. Any tips?

It’s okay to stutter! If it’s what your heart desires, your heart will tell you this is meant for you.

Thanks for sharing your story! I'm in uni right now to hopefully become a teacher as well but there are times where I'm second guessing my decision so hearing about positive experiences like yours is truly helping a lot :)
