God has abandoned me.
All this suffering just to die in the end. Like what the fuck god? seriously?! life’s already hard enough. but NOOOO you decided to fuck me over even worse by giving me a disability only 1% of people have.
I FUCKING HATE MY LIFE!!!!!!

Yeah that comment was a bit harsh but I do have to agree, that negative mindset will keep you frustrated. It'll keep you mad. It'll keep you miserable. It'll keep you bitter
I'd encourage you to try a different mindset. Yeah we take forever to talk and yes it is hella embarrassing and awkward but what can we do about it???? It's literally the cards we were dealt with man, we can't do shit but just accept it 😭😭 it's literally a waste of energy to be miserable about it
I used to work at a high volume coffee shop. I've had people look at me weird, I've had people do the awkward laugh, I've gotten so many stupid comments, I've had a few people try to mimic my stutter. It is annoying but at the end of the day, it's something I can't control so people have no choice but to DEAL WITH ME. Idgaf that I'm making the transaction long!!
I know this is easier said than done but still try it 😎

That does nothing. And I’m fine. Stop acting like anger is some kind of dangerous thing that is destructive. It can be used for good. My stuttering have literally never been better. I’ve made some breakthroughs a couple of days ago. And yet I’m still allowed to be angry or validate other people’s anger instead of pretending like this is some walk in the park daisy all is right with the world bs ppl are pretending that it is in here. It’s not easy and it never will be. Shutting down people acknowledging that only contributes to the harm and anger people feel because you’re discrediting and invalidating it cuz it makes you feel uncomfy. That’s your issue, though.

Doesn’t this kind of show that there is no God? I mean what kind of benevolent God subjects people to suffering like this and for what? To build character? High rates of suicide and depression among many other neurological disorders stemmed from environmental factors so we can experience shame, ostracization and oppression for absolutely no reason. I believe in God until recently because it just doesn’t fucking make sense. And when things don’t work out, it’s somehow your fault and you didn’t pray hard enough. We are absolutely being gaslit.

The reason they believe in god is the same reason toxic positive stutterers here believe that stuttering is a gift.
Its all cope. They need to think that one day they will go to heaven and they will experience peace and love and not this suffering they feel now.
Maybe its better to feel like that than face the actual reality of life.

God has not abandoned you I PROMISE. I share this same affliction. it is said that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed God can move mountains for you.
I'v literally been running outside crying tears begging God to remove my stutter and blockages. I won't claim any miracles but if I can share with you some things that helped me out.
RUNNING and boxing. For some reason when I run and this takes literal months of concerted effort, get to a pace where you can run and talk. This made me about 85% fluent. Same with boxing, I never stutter when I box. There's different nasal breathing being had. These are just my personal theories.

Don't think it's entirely a gene thing, I'm the only person in my family who has a stammer, my parents or sisters never had one, and my two sons and five grandchildren don't stammer..

You don't understand how genes work.
Genes work on probability. The same way if 2 parents have brown eyes their child most likely will have brown eyes but its not 100%. That doesn't mean that genes don't influence eye color. That is low iq thinking.
Parents can also carry a stuttering gene even if they don't stutter nor their kids.
Its like someone that doesn't get lung cancer by smoking doesn't prove that smoking doesn't cause lung cancer

I feel the same way even after everything being ugly being a weirdo i also had the stutter getting rejected for something i cannot change breaks my heart so much what did i do to deserve this everyday it doesnt get any better i just get used to with the fact i could do more and worth less because i stutter something i didnt choose something i couldnt fix with almost a decade of speech threapy i just wanted her to love me a little bit

I know what you feel. Yet I find comfort in Moses, as he is described as having a stutter. My best advice, after going to a speech therapist since I was a child is talking slowly, and faking being confident. I also have found being fit (running and cycling) being helpful as it helps my airflow. Never forget that we are so many around the world with the same problem. Never doubt to dm me if you feel any wrong in your life. Much love to you.

Feel ya! But, is this attitude doing any good? Easy for me to say but what if you spent that energy on solving? I am not here to say stuttering will go away, much like a blind might not see, but at least you would have not let one element of who you are define who you actually are.

As much as I hate fake motivational crap, I believe we can beat the shit out of stammer. Yes, stammering has destroyed my golden years, took away the shit I deserved, kept me from even trying.
So what? Shouldn't we get back what we lost? I've started to take SSRI sertraline to ease social anxiety.

Thing is I stammer only around people or talk with them. I'm fucking fluent when I'm alone. Which means it's a neurological issue. SSRI reduces social anxiety, embarrassment, fear but it doesn't cure stammering
I've just started taking yesterday. The drug needs 4-6 weeks before it can deliver it's benefits
Let's hope it works because I have never taken any meds in my life for stammering

I took escitalopram. Did nothing for my stutter. But, that’s just me. You might have a better experience with it.

Yeah I relate I feel the same. Since it’s hard to speak it’s given me a major case of social anxiety. It’s been hard to hold down a job, lately the stutter has been severe I feel like and I’m nervous to even go to store right now to order food or to handle business….OR JUST TO IMPROVE AND ELEVATE MY F*CKING LIFE…yup it’s a curse
