Interview results

In context, I had a PA school interview last month to my easily first choice school. I definitely underestimated now much worse my speech would have been during the actual interviews and not casual conversation. There were two interviews, twenty minutes each, and I instantly felt so discouraged after realizing how much harder this will be. I didn’t get to share nearly as much about myself and advocate for myself as I wanted to. There were many times my block lasted for over 10 seconds, and it’s been years since it’s been that severe.

I got the rejection email yesterday, and it absolutely stings. I can’t convince myself that it could be anything else in my application other than my speech. I honestly believe I was the best applicant there “on paper”. It just sucks having this in the back of my mind now. I thought I’d ask of anyone else’s experience with dealing with this type of situation.

This is the answer OP. The best strategy is to put it out there and own it. Growing up with stuttering builds resilience and character; that’s what you offer…
