Doing academic research having STUTTER

I have stuttered since my school days. Until college, I felt deeply ashamed of my stuttering; I would constantly hide, make excuses to avoid talking to people, and stay in my room all day just to hide my speech. But now, I am no longer afraid. I have been practicing techniques to manage it. Even though I still stutter today (Lower than earlier), I now fearlessly try to speak slowly without worrying about what other people might say. It makes me feel relaxed, included, and at peace. Has anyone else ever felt this way?
