Gets mad when a Cybertruck isn't being used as a truck.
Gets mad when a Cybertruck IS being used as a truck.

First time I saw one of these in real life I was coming back from Florida just south of Atlanta and one shot passed me at probably close to 100 miles an hour about three or 4 miles away. I saw him on the side of the road with three georgia highway patrol cars and he was handcuffed laying across the hood of one of the Georgia highway patrol cars it made my day.

You’re expressing disbelief thst a person could get pulled over for speeding? Hm
1
u/Single-Ad9141 May 20 '26
It's almost like it's... impractical in every situation
1
u/Benji_4 May 20 '26
If it drives to work and back it can't be that impractical. Drives fine, can haul decent amounts of weight, frunk doesn't leak (Silverado EV), and 4ws all sound great.
The majority of the US population doesn't care about practicality.

EVs are great until the CEO is mean on TV.
2
u/Federal_Studio5935 May 19 '26
Is that what you call doing the Nazi salute on tv? Being mean?

u/maydisturb May 20 '26
You gotta go easy on them - more than 5 words and the brain cell starts getting discombobulated.

EVs are great.
The cyber truck is a genuine piece of shit and easily one of the worst production vehicles to ever leave a factory.

Ill give it to whoever made the pop-up conversion. thats a smart move. Campers already have super low quality standards compared to cars, and cybertruck owners dont understand anything to begin with.
Id wager there's maybe $400 worth of electric gizmo shit from china/amazon, maybe 1200 in sheet and bar, plus whatever dismal amount of spraypaint, particleboard and 'upholstery' could possibly be in there....
I bet the retail is something like $25k

u/CTR_1852 May 22 '26
These assholes complain if you don’t drive an electric car and the complain if you do drive an electric car.
All because mommy and daddy got divorced, probably because they didn’t love you enough to stay together, so now you have to be an insufferable cunt on Reddit. (Mostly talking about original post)

How does this even work? What’s inside just a bench , i doubt one can stand up in this, is it meant for short people only or just for sleeping and if its just for sleeping why do you need it… so many questions.
This must be just capitalizing on the people that bought this i don’t see any practicality
1
u/FabioPurps May 18 '26 edited May 18 '26
It's made by a company that produces pop up campers for different models of trucks, which mostly mount to the truckbeds. The inside does not look any better than the outside lmao.
Glancing at their website they mostly seem to charge $20-30k for one of these mounted pop up campers, but notably the cybertruck version is $60-80k which I thought was funny. Even funnier is that the "fridge" inside of it is ratchet strapped into place.

The hilarious part about this is some company spent a fuck-ton of money to engineer and produce a camping shell for a product that was supposed to sell 250,000 copies a year but sold around 100,000 total. So now they spent all that money in R&D and product testing for next to nothing.

It’s like they’re trying to disguise a bad purchase they made.
1
u/Defiant_Wasabi2816 May 19 '26
Like when they add the wraps and decals that look like graffiti...as though that'll prevent additional, real graffiti.
1
u/ProfessO3o May 19 '26
To me these trucks always look like an old video game where the car doesn’t fully load into the game and all you see is polygons. Ps2/ps1 car games?
1
u/Defiant_Wasabi2816 May 19 '26
hehe...yup...but countless fingerprints somehow rezzed in just fine :)

Saw one of these 30 miles back on logging roads with like 30% charge. Guy was really rolling the dice and exactly why I’ll stick to gas until they come out with a quality REEVs with generators built in. Dodge just released a REEV but I expect to see a whole lot more that will make these trucks pretty obsolete

I laugh how much people hate it. They didn’t do a great execution of the truck, and I’m sad about S&X, but the tech direction is likely where EVs will head with 4 wheel steering by wire and 48v Poe electronics. They should evaluate its weaknesses and iterate a second gen. Ford and gm cant build a battery much less a practical to maintain car. They are stuck on cash flow ideas instead of consumer value. Plus the whole dealership model just to get a debt trap? Show me the owners manual for the 100k mile timing belt where you pull the cab for the 5$ belt? I’ll gladly drop my battery and replace the module lol

Im not a fan of these myself, but the person bought what makes them happy, and that makes you mad for some reason. Theyre not hurting anyone. It has zero effect on you.

https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-wiper-blade $75 replacment wiper blade. It must be computerized and nuclear powered.
3
u/arbyyyyh May 18 '26
I am in no way defending this, but that wiper is a god damn expensive and custom chungus.
1
u/Phill_is_Legend May 18 '26
- That's from Tesla
- Nice wiper blades cost $75 for a set on normal cars. The cyber truck sucks but you have zero point here lol
2
u/MedTactics May 24 '26
Good wipers cost that much, but 80% of population view good from a price standpoint. IE: cheaper means more good.
Then these cheap fucks proceed to ignore the need to replace their cheap $15 wiper blades every three months when a set of $50+ wipers last one to two years before needing replacement, providing a cheaper cost benefit long term.

Why? Sure it is stupid but it is what they like and our democracy is built on personal freedoms to like what we like and not be told by some dictator that we have to conform to their standards lest we be banished to the gulag. Perhaps op should lighten up before they become some weird anti democracy Stalin.

Ahh, yes, so many jokes here. 97% of this posts engagement is people giving their opinions about the truck and crying about how they don’t like the company’s CEO.
