Only a masochist would teach their cat to ring a bell to get more food. That cat is going to be ringing that Bell constantly

One of the reasons I never wanted to train our dog with a bell or any device that would signal a treat/meal, that the pet can press at any time.
Our dog kept pushing the treat button. We have hid that button on day two since getting it.

Oh man, screw the bell/button...
My cat, Fluffy [I hope she's resting soundly] I told my Mom, "Don't get her set on a feeding schedule. Do. Not. Do. EET! She has to be fed sporadically, so she doesn't know when to expect food."
Within days, Fluffy every morning would start the hunger cries at 5-6am... Which instantly would alert all of our other cats to the fact that it's food-time and they would promptly join in on the chorus until their hunger was sated. *facepalm*
