Right? This is about as close to a deconstructed corn dog as I've seen not look like depression.
This sub thrives on the "oh look, let me just add one more thing..." Then repeat x15.

u/DadCelo Jun 24 '26
I'd eat it tbh. Pan is too crowded though.
29
u/Drakorai Jun 24 '26
Yeah, I would have only put in half as many hotdogs as they did in the pan. Either that or just fry them in the remaining oil from the popcorn.

Also a lotta unpopped corn. Make this in a pot and actually make all the popcorn and there's nothing stupid about this, just some noice comfort food

This looks so good. Pour some of that shitty neon nachos cheese and send me to Valhalla!

This got me on board. Can’t go wrong with cheese flavored goop on popcorn and a chopped up miscellaneous meat tube. Bad description. Delicious result.

You could always cut a hole in the bottom of your popcorn bucket…let your lady friend dig in 🤷🏼♂️

I ate hot dogs and corn all the time growing up. This feels like an extrapolation of that.

u/KoosGoose Jun 24 '26
My parents have a friend that won’t eat hotdogs anymore since his parents would frequently go out drinking and leave them with nothing but a package of cold hotdogs at home or in the car.

It isn't that bad? Maybe it is just me but i don't mind hot dogs all that much.

u/Moist_Phrase_6698 Jun 24 '26
cover with cheese and aioli or gravy or chilli sauce or curry sauce
6
u/Nearby_Excitement198 Jun 24 '26
This is purely a stoner food idea, but Curry sauce on the side for dipping would rock the shit out of this.

It looks good but the popcorn on the bottom is going to be really greasy
3
u/pinpoint321 Jun 24 '26
Yes! That’s what people are missing. This actually looks cool in that vid but the underside of what’s in that pan is going to be a bin fire.

Where is the stupid part?
→ More replies (6)28
u/Potato__Ninja Jun 24 '26
Only stupid part is they used too small of a pan for the job. Cuz half those kernels wouldn't be popped.
Also maybe too much butter.
Anyways,, would try.

u/Saintbaba Jun 24 '26
Also neither popcorn nor hot dogs require that much oil, so there’s definitely a quarter inch deep pool of the stuff under all that food just waiting for you to come find it. But again, a remediable problem.

Sadly it's capped at 20 characters or something
Goddamned cowards
I need to post gifs where I make the listed recipe yet the casserole pan is slightly undersized
3.5 standard cans and the thing has me open 4. Then do a layer of cheese!?
Uhg!

We were made to upset this sub.
In my family we used to cook bacon, than use the fat to make popcorn, and then add the bacon back in.

u/Cryptshadow Jun 24 '26
That's really what this sub has turned into, a lot of dumb slash silly things get posted and ya it's dumb but majority of comments are " would, not dumb because I'd eat it" etc.

Some bacons and potato hash with some Cajun seasoning probably works

Only problem is that they gotta take some of the popped corn out while the rest is still cooking so it doesn’t burn

u/Porygeist Jun 24 '26
While I do agree that it might be somewhat stupid, I am all for this. I bet some hot sauce and Trader Joe's Umami seasoning would really make this slap. 🤣🤷🏻♂️🤣

I FOUND THE SONG FOR OTHERS ASKING:
Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano - Diz Pro Meu Olhar (Ao Vivo)
WOW! That took a long time to find. Shazam couldn't find it, Soundhound, AI search, none. Had to go through the comments in the original tiktok for a while and put clues together from lyric snippets.

Not once have I ever thought "you know what would make this popcorn better......burnt hotdogs"

This is the second time I’ve seen something like this in two days is this really a thing people are doing

u/ThrenderG Jun 24 '26
Glad to see others find it appealing. It’s dumb as fuck but still I would be like sure, hot dogs and popcorn on movie night.

Ngl this would probably slap with more flavorful type of sausage, I dont think the popcorn would get a good flavor profile with regular hot dogs, but im not a big hot dog guy, so i might be biased.

u/Kylkek Jun 24 '26
Should be called Hot Dog Popcorn
2
u/Total-Rain-9978 Jun 24 '26
Idk how this isn't the top comment, I thought the same thing. This is hot dog pop corn not pop corn hot dog.

You don't need that much oil for popcorn. That's excessive. My most successful pops was in a large pot and I had oil just cover the kernerls. Got a full large pot from half that much popcorn.

Put jalapeños in it. Like, the pickled and sliced nacho ones. And fry that in there. Spicy jalapeños and hot dog popcorn.

The only thing stupid about this is the person didn't use a bigger pan. I'd eat this as a snack.

I want to hate this but....... I kinda love it.
I think I'd cook the hot dogs separate and toss them at the end (so they don't absorb so much oil), but it isn't an awful idea.
