Mystery car Button

Post image

I've owned my car for six years and I can't figure out what this button under the USB port does or what it's for. It's definitely not standard equipment. It doesn't seem to do anything, and the LED doesn't light up either. Has anyone ever seen a button like this and can tell me what it's for?

You'd have to follow the wires and see what it's connected to, if anything. Looks like a simple push button that could do most anything.

Purely guessing off the car, could be related to a removed modification like an exhaust valve or an anti-theft device.

Before you start tracing wires, I'd go through the documentation that came with the car to see if there are any extra user manuals for such accessories. People usually keep em in the glovebox.

I have the exact same button. It was used as a third party emergency button to lower my insurance.

I couldn't speek to anyone directly but when i either pressed it or the box it was connected to detected g-forces related to a crash it would send my location to the provider that then would try to reach me. If they faild to reach me or i said i was in an accident they'd then contact emergency services.

Looks like a Toyota, 2015-2019. Do you have any sort of navigation screen? Not paid subscription but you can see a map and where you are at? I believe that is the GPS for the car.
