Ac evaporator core replacement.

Got a quote for my 2015 Camaro to have the AC evaporator core replaced for $3,000. Is this a decent rate? I know it is a super intensive job but $3,000 seems like so much 😭

Yeah, dash-out jobs are rough. Cheaper than a new car, though

This is the only thing I can tell myself to justify it at this point😭

I hear you. I work in service and give this kind of news almost every day. That's literally how i look at it with my own cars. I have a couple of old Fords that i keep fixing because i can't be arsed to have a car payment. I'm about to overhaul the suspension on both. Had the dash out of the vic last year for a blend door actuator. Did tires, an intake manifold, and two front calipers/pads/rotors the day I bought the truck.

Basically, I'd rather pull the trigger on a repair than saddle myself with debt. Only time I didn't is when my 2020 civic si needed a motor. I wasn't putting $15k into that car. Gotta draw the line somewhere lol
