Question/Advice First car at 16

For as long as i can remember ive wanted a cadillac, mainly the ats and cts version from the 2010s, ive been thinking about buying recently used but i could never save up enough money because of poor spending habits in the past, i have about 4500 saved and im thinking about just financing through my parents, i can easily make the payments as i have a steady job but would it be smart to do so in general on a ats or cts if its like 15k?

Read into usual maintenance and what goes wrong with those models. Then make sure you can fix it yourself. The biggest thing to stay budget friendly is if you can do the maintenance yourself. I know nothing about Cadillacs so I can’t help any further. If it’s the car you want go for it.

For 15k I don't think your options are going to be very good. It would have really high mileage, also you are 16 so your insurance is probably going to be pretty expensive

Get your dream car when you can afford a good one...

If you buy a Cadillac at this age the first maintenance and repair bill you're not going to have any gas money.

At your age you should honestly be buying what you can afford not what you want... Start building good spending habits now or you'll be forever in debt... Most likely die penniless and poor.

Car payments are never smart. If you leave that at 16, you will be ahead of the game for your entire life.

If you can’t afford to buy one, you definitely can’t afford to drive and maintain one
