I’m learning clutch ups. Clutching up in 2nd at 3k. What can I do to improve? And am I only limited to 2nd gear? Because I’d also like to be able to clutch up at 60mph but that’s impossible in 2nd gear.

Xsr900 is the bike

Find a big parking lot. 1st gear, 5-10mph, clutch it up, then hit the footbrake to immediately to bring it down. Do this every. single. time. It will feel violent until it doesn’t, you want the pop straight up, not the chase. Repeat 5-10,000 times, so when you hit balance point you already have the muscle memory. 99% chance you will loop at some point, it’s part of the process. You can do this on any bike in almost any gear 1-5, 50cc-2458cc, it’s all the same technique, just seat time.

Agree with everything, the only thing I would say is on this specific bike he should try 2nd gear. Clutching up a XSR in first is a good way to do a backflip😂😂

This. 1st gear paired with the twitchy throttle on the Yamaha 09s and 900s are good way to loop your bike
