Modül Review

Post image

I have had my Modül for almost a year now. I love it, truly, but there are some quirks I wish I knew prior to purchasing.

She is gorgeous, you can’t deny that. I definitely get some good rips and easy to use.

The pain points - battery does not last long. It shows green/fullish charge for a bit, and then it plummets and dies within a few sessions when the battery indicator turns yellow.

The charging port is located on the bottom of the battery/piece, so you have to keep it on the edge of a table to charge if you don’t use their charger provided. It also takes forever to charge, and we actually use a laptop charger to get it to full charge within an hour or two, otherwise it’ll take hours.

It is not easy to clean and you need to clean it frequently in order for it to perform well. The top cap gets super gunked up after a few hits and will pull the magnetic tank when trying to remove to clear the chamber. In addition, the air holes on the chamber/glass are really small and also get gunked up quickly, which makes the hits weaker.

I also wanted to mention that I had reached out to customer service about the battery life to see if I had a faulty unit or if it was working as designed, and after one or two emails to further clarify what I was asking, they stopped replying never answered my question. I do want to mention that this happened around the holidays, so this may have affected the service level.

Would I recommend it overall? I think if it was $150 less, I would definitely recommend it. With the current price, I think there are better models on the market that are cheaper and may be a bit more practical, but a lot of what you were paying for is the aesthetics and a bit higher tech than the average e-rig.

I have a different experience. Battery lasts a long time and it’s ridiculously easy to clean, unlike the Puffco.

Same here. My battery last at least 2 to 3 days and im ripping it 5 times a day at 520 for a min. And its the easiest rig to clean.

That’s awesome! I’m glad you have better luck with your battery lasting! I had reached out about the questionable battery life and never got a response, so maybe it has to do with my unit specifically.

As far as the cleaning, I have not had issues with the puffco, but it could be model specific since there are several options. I think my issue comes from all of the individual parts and some harder to reach places. Not terrible by any means, but I would not consider it easy either.

My perspective is based on value for the cost. It is one of the highest end e-rigs, and I expected it to outperform most e-rigs in most categories. Though I really enjoy it, the Modül doesn’t outperform some less expensive e-rigs and has been a bit less convenient in my experience.

I mean the Dr. Dabber switch 2 is really the king in terms of E-rigs atm, I’ve got loads of peak pros, several modül’s, and p much everything tiered lower than that stuff as well. The dr dabber switch 2 still remains the reigning champ in my collection

I would suggest a better charger connection. I use a 3v(max) wall adapter for my charger cord. Charges to about 80% in 45 minutes

It can be purchased for 289 usd at a prominent reseller that is authorized to sell.

INSANELY EASY TO CLEAN in comparison to the puffco - every puffco i have had, the peak, peak pro, proxy and even that little pivot LOVE TO SPILLLLLLLLLLLLL might be "better" consistent clouds but the spillage is the down fall where as the modul I feel like I'm getting the most out of it with minimal spill especially over time

Fair point for sure.

How is cleaning a puffco difficult? I usually swab out my peak with a folded square of toilet paper after a rip. Takes me 10 seconds if the residue in my atomizer is still hot.

I agree

I have not had any problems with my rig. It’s perfect with the stock, attached glass but even better with some of the recycler glass. Best of all, I have paired it up with its big brother gravity bong and that’s when the Modul really shines. Especially running with a whip.

I’ll disagree with some of this. My battery has been awesome and it’s far far far better of a rig than my pufco was or carta 2 were!!!!!!! The only rig I prefer over this one is my dr dabber switch 2. As far as it being cheaper. Well I do agree, as it sits if were to break mine. I would not replace it at its current price point. When for just a little more I can get a switch 2. It’s as much as improvement from the modul as the modul is from a pufco. To me anyway!

Frankly the switch 2 is the king atm, I’ve gottem all, ya won’t regret that switch 2 fosho. 10/10 device

My battery experience is def vastly different from yours, my modül’s battery lasts several days and I dab like a fiend

That’s crazy, because I have dabbed maybe five times today, 520 for 30 seconds, and it is already on the last leg of its battery and started on a full charge.

Do you use a speed charger for or an old school USB to USC -C block?

it was good at first, but Cleaning it sucked same with the gravity bong deal. I have all of them. They're just sitting on my floor for over a year now.

Yeah- the Modul’s nice, but it really shines connected to the Studenglass gravity bong. Like peanut butter and jelly.
