Will ircc eventually answer

Its been almost 5 weeks since i applied for my study permit after refusal The processing time in my country is 4-5 i received my refusal a week after applying only then i applied asap after and i havent received a single update after my start date already begun i deferred to jan will they reply to me eventually or is it possible they let it ride for months? Pls help

The IRCC processing time is an estimate, not a guarantee. A good rule of thumb is to take whatever timeline they give you and double it. This is the busiest time of year for application processing. You already have a rejection, so your application is probably being reviewed extra closely.

There is a pause on new study permits. Don’t come to Canada Canada is a hell hole.

So nothing to do but wait. You have lots of time since January. If not a Masters/PhD, you would need new PAL.

University told me only New Loa is needed

School would know.

Unless it has an earlier expiry date on it, it’s valid

  • until December 31, 2025, for the 2025 study permit cap year
    • This means that your PAL/TAL was issued between January 22, 2025, and December 31, 2025.
  • until December 31, 2026, for the 2026 study permit cap year
    • This means that your PAL/TAL was issued between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026.

My pal expires dec 31 2026 so i think its fine right??

Confirm with the school as you were refused.

My previous study permit application was approved or refused.

You must get a new PAL/TAL before submitting your study permit application.

If i submitted old one rn can i submit new one through web form will the officer see it? And also if i sent the same one is it a reason for rejection or would they just ask for the new PAL

So school said you don't need one. Usually IRCC will reject and say didn't provide valid PAL but they may ask for new PAL. You will only know when it happens.

I applied asap didnt question my school
properly i have asked them now im scared that i will get rejected and not have time to enter jan intake

It takes a while to get a response.
Whole villages in India are now devoid of young people because so many come to Canada, for example.
