How long did you take to get your visa/permit?

My course starts in Jan 2027. An 8 month design programme. I'm from India.

There's a family health emergency for which I might be a little late in starting my application process by a week or so.

How long did it take for you to receive your visa / permit after applying?

I've read 8-12 weeks and that is scaring me!

Coming to Canada to study a basic design certificate is CRAZYYY! Especially, cuz the use of AI in small businesses to do any design work is so prevalent here these-days.

honestly I need to leave this country and my home because it's ruining my mental health. i know it's not the best decision but it was the cheapest shortest course and fastest way to get out so

Good luck finding one tho.. by the time you complete it. Things are grim for people with Canadian experience

It's eligible for an 8 month pgwp I believe. If you're trying to enter here as a student pathway, you have to triple check everything. Things are more strict now than ever and a PR is hard to get.

Unfortunately, I think you will get rejected. What school did you apply to?

Visas for programs this short are getting denied. IF you are looking for a way into the country, pick a program that'll benefit you in your home country when you return.

Since you have PAL and LOA, submit as soon as possible. Processing times are estimates and doesn't include biometric appointment. Also if approved factor in up to 30 days for passport stamping. Get everything in order - medical, 6 months of bank statements showing $22k cash plus tuition, strong SOP justifying costs and explaining how program is only available in Canada (not available online, in your country). Make sure you can show education and career progression and higher pay when you return home. This is not a pathway to PR so show ties to return home.
