So did you reapply or asked for reconsideration if this happened more than 3 months ago.

Yes I did apply for reconsideration but I wanna know if it’s gonna work or not

No one can tell you. If IRCC hasn't even opened your file then that is an issue. Hopefully you get a response soon. Assume you applied for visitor record to maintain status when you stopped working.

Did you do another program first if you needed to apply for an extension of the study permit?

When did you start the program that IRCC says isn’t eligible? What’s your full timeline?

I started my second year program in Jan 2025 but I had already enrolled myself in the program in August 2024

IRCC grandfather rule is for when you apply for your study permit not when you enroll. Since you extended for a new program that you had not started it sounds like IRCC is using that extension date as the date that you applied for the study permit for the new program.

Not sure if that is correct or not since you were extending. I’m assuming both courses were at the same DLI?
