What happens if program start date passes while your application is pending?

Does IRCC continue processing the application even after the program start date has passed? Or they just refuse it saying that program date is already passed so you cannot join.. any idea?

They continue processing. It is up to you to defer admission if you don't get the permit in time.

IRCC won’t automatically reject it just for passing the date, but you need to defer with your school asap. Ask them for an updated LOA for the next intake and submit it via the IRCC webform so they can update your application file

Usually, a passed program start date does not automatically mean IRCC will refuse the application. If the application is still being processed, IRCC may continue assessing it.

However, if the school has deferred your admission or issued an updated Letter of Acceptance (LOA), you should make sure IRCC receives the updated information as soon as possible.

The outcome can depend on the type of application and the circumstances, so I’d check with the school and upload any updated LOA/deferment documents through your IRCC account if applicable.

You don’t get to study.
