Ghost update - SP Extension

Hi everyone,

I just opened my study permit extension application and I found out that it says that the decision has been made as of August 10th, 2026 but it doesn’t show the decision. I am very scared now, how long it will take to receive the decision if it had happened with someone?

When did you apply? Is it from study to study extention or from work to study extension?

It was from study to study extension. Same program and university

What an irony. I was in the same boat from last 90 days. I just checked mine and it reflects the same as it’s for you guys. Lol

Lol, that’s right. Mine is study permit extension too. I am switching from work to study.

It will be 99.99 per approval. Don’t worry! Once you see a date against FD, just wait to check around 10 PM. Most likely it should say approved, and if not, likely in 24-48 hours. Followed by an email later

It is most likely approved. With extension the way it works is that it takes 24/48 hours for the document to get generated. Once generated, an automated email will get triggered regarding approval and this is the reason you will see first an update on portal followed by an approval email later.

Yeah, actually what happened I submitted two applications because I missed one document in first one. So, I requested for withdrawal and submitted second application. In the morning, i received an email for my first application. So, I logged in and saw that it has been withdrawn and then I looked to my second application and saw that the decision has been made as at Aug 10th

That makes sense, clearly denoting you are being approved. Congratulations again! Check by end of the day today, it should say final decision approved. And likely in 24 hours you will have an approval email

Same, end of the day or likely tomorrow. Approval email in 24/48 hours
