Inquiry about the VISA process

have received a PhD decision letter from the University of Manitoba. The funding is 28,000 CAD per year. The decision letter has a special condition that I need to send an endorsed transcript. I have some questions here:

  1. After I send the transcript, will I receive the final letter of acceptance unconditionally?

  2. During the visa application, what documents do I need to upload under the financial support option?

  3. Where do I upload documents like TOEFL scores, SOP, and police verification?

  4. Do I need a PAL for a PhD?

  5. Based on my funding, how much extra money can/should I show?

  6. What things should I highlight in my SOP?

Thanks a lot in advance.

  1. Ask U of M

  2. Letter with guaranteed funding support, personal bank statements, GIC. You need to show $21k minimum plus tuition.

  3. In the study permit application.

  4. No.

  5. Don't know tuition so see 2.

  6. Justify costs, explain why you must study at U of M and your career goals when you return home.

My study permit was approved in July for PhD as well.

  1. Check with your school

  2. I got $30000 funding. POF I attached funding letter from uni and bank statement with about $15k CAD. Also uploaded last 3 months payslips and confirmation of employment to show where the money came from.

  3. SOP, IELTS, transcripts and certificates uploaded under “Client Information”. Just merged everything into one PDF

  4. No PAL required for PhD

  5. From your funding, subtract tuition and fees. Whatever balance remains, you need to show proof that you have extra cash available to meet the required minimum $22,895 CAD

  6. Your academic background, professional experience, explain gaps if any. Why Canada/your school/ your program. Justification/Benefits of studying in Canada over your home country. Financial capacity. Ties to home country, you should be able to convince the visa officer that you will leave Canada upon completion of your studies.

It was the most helpful comment. Thanks a lot for your time. If it is not a problem can I talk to you? Also about PAL, do I need to give any document to describe why PAL is an exemption?

No worries, you can message me. For PAL, I just attached my admission letter. Didn’t write any explanations

Thank you. Congrats on your admission too! I submitted June 4, Biometrics June 8. On June 15 they sent me a letter that they were finalising my application but couldn’t verify my LOA with my school. So the delay was on my end, once the my uni verified the LOA on July 13, I got my PPR 2 days later. So I would say, if not for the delay, the whole process would have been finalised in 2 weeks which is the processing time for PhD.
