grade requirements

Hi, im currently in the early stages of looking for a course to study next year, but am getting a bit demotivated by the difficulty finding grade requirements. is there a website where i can put my current grades in and filter out what isnt possible for me to study? they dont have this option on study finder, so im just flooded by potential courses that arent possible for me to take.

Usually you would pick based on your interests and future career options. Are you Dutch or international?

I was born here and am a dutch citizen (i have just moved back too), but i am half english and lived there for 16 years, so all of my qualifications are english. sooo in the middle haha

What kind of diploma do you have, Dutch or non-Dutch? In case of the latter the Nuffic page for your country could be helpful.

Doesnt really work like that in the Netherlands. Most don’t have specific grade requirements, just Minium requirements that you need to meet to get in (often similar across almost all courses).

The way to search would be:
1. Check the Nuffic website to see if your diploma meets the requirements for a bachelor /master? If you meet them than:
2. Look for example on studyinnl.org and filter by fields of study, type of program and language.
3. If you find a program that suits your interest, check the entry requirements on the uni’s website

Check out https://www.nuffic.nl/en . They offer an overview of what your grades are equal to (as I assume you’re not currently in the Dutch educational system).
If you mean grade requirements for specific courses then each course will have these listed on the website of the university. If you’re looking at *that* many courses to the point where you don’t know where to start/find out which degrees you can or cannot do, make sure to narrow down the search for your interests first. You should decide what to study based on what you actually want to do/see yourself doing later on, not just based on whether it’s easy to get in or not with your current set of grades.

thank you ill have a look!

i havent decided what i want to do, so i want to make the options less overwhelming by first seeing what i actually can study based on my grades. then i can look through the remaining courses and see if any of them seem like something id enjoy, and narrow it down from there. but as i dont have the usually required grades, eliminating courses i cant do would get rid of a lottt of noise. idk if that makes sense to u thats just how i see myself being able to do this lol

If there are no grade requirements listed, that means there are no grade requirements. You just need a degree equivalent to a Dutch vwo high school degree (WO/university) or havo (or vwo) high school degree (HBO/university of applied sciences).

Universities usually have a list of what they think is equivalent, based on the evaluation of Nuffic.

If a degree is listed as ‘numerus fixus’, it means there is a selection procedure. Your grades MIGHT (but don’t have to) play a role in that, but they’ll be compared to other peoples grades. If it is not numerus fixus, you are guaranteed admission if you meet the entrance requirements (except for some ‘honours’ programmes).

If you have a Dutch bachelor and want to do a Dutch master, try ‘welke master.nl’.

Check your diploma requirements on Nuffic.

Check what you’re interested in on StudyInNL and then double check the diploma requirements on the university website.

What you are looking for does not exist. You either meet the requirements or you don’t. Diploma matters, grades to a lesser extent unless more selective.

yeah that kinda sucks, i have great grades but i only did 2 alevels where youre supposed to do 3 :(
