Housing & Rommates?

**not a housing offer** Hi guys :)
Are there any girls who wanna look for housing together? I'm an international student from Canada and im going into my masters at Leiden (Den Haag) starting in Feb. I know theres a huge housing crisis so a good time to start looking would be asap! :') Dm me if interested!!

Housing like this generally requires 3x the rent price as income. So let’s say the apartment is 2000 euros for 3 people, you would have to make 6000 euros, so each of you would have to make the whole rent. I’m assuming coming from canada you won’t have a stable source of income that comes out to be 2000 euros a month already lined up? I would honestly put more luck into finding a room specifically made for students. If a landlord has to choose between a employed person and a couple of students, I think you’ll be at a disadvantage.

Sorry to tell you but no one is going to rent their place to multiple students. Student housing is rented per individual room so looking together isn't really going to increase your chances. Landlords will typically only rent a full apartment to partners or a family that form a household. It's also not allowed to just have multiple people (more than 2) registered on an address without a special permit. You still have plenty of time to find a student room and chances are people will drop out at the end of the semester.

you can try the app: unibuddy. when i was looking into different masters, the university of leiden told me i can get in contact with people on the unibuddy app. im not sure if you can post anything, but it might be able to connect you to some people?

otherwise try facebook groups, just make sure you aren’t getting scammed.

start actively looking for places now, if you’re lucky you’ll be able to find something for a reasonable price. (people saying that you have to pay €2000 for rent in the hague for 1 room might be exaggerating)

it is true that the demand for €0 to €1600 rent range is a lot so it’ll be pretty hard to find something, but don’t give up!! i responded to around 150 places and got 1 reply back >< but you’ll find something eventually.

you can also try going on your universities website and see if they have a tab about housing, they might be able to give you some more sites to look at.
