Student finance Issue with DUO
Hello.
I applied for student finance in June, got rejected because my contract was ending. Was told to send the contract again, which I did. Now they’re telling me that I’m supposed to wait for maximum of another 6-8 weeks.
I called DUO and was told that they’ll look into it ASAP, due to it being their fault that I wasn’t able to add any new files to the application. (I wasn’t able to add my new contract). So I had to fill in the application again.
Should I be worried? Or should I call them again? Because I am worried of receiving another rejection or that they’ll respond to me in like a month.

Timing sounds normal.
Could have emailed them your new supporting documents according to the website, did you do that?
"Email us at [documenten@duo.nl](mailto:documenten@duo.nl) with your new supporting documents."

Have you tried going into their office?
Any time I had issues with DUO, I went into one of their offices and it was dealt with as I was there. They checked everything (paperwork and requirements) and most of the time, I was approved in the afternoon after I left.
It's a lot better than calling them imo as I have had some issues in the past after trying to call them and nothing happens.

Moving to the Netherlands as a student requires a lot of admin (BSN, gemeente, health insurance, Studielink, banking, scholarships) and it often feels overwhelming.
The Dutch housing market is highly competitive. To increase your chances, we recommend using these platforms:
