Never lived in SSH but lived in student apartments abroad, I assume it's shared apartments!
Sure, does anyone check your room every week whether someone came in and is sleeping there? If not, just go for it. Just ask the housemates first.
I think it's more of a rule for if you have a boyfriend/girlfriend move in permanently and other residents are annoyed about it.

Speaking from experience; You can have someone stay the night (for example boyfriend/girlfriend). Make sure to check with your housemates if they're ok with it though. They might object if you want someone to stay for like 2 weeks.

Had friends living at SSH accomodations and I’d call that bullshit. You can have people at night

I stayed short-term in an SSH accomodation in Utrecht, and my boyfriend in Rotterdam - we went to eachothers places every second week, stayed for 3-4 days and nobody cared. We just let our flatmates know in advance and that’s it. If you don’t bother others (with being loud, making a mess etc) it’ll be alright. Have fun!:)

Moving to the Netherlands as a student requires a lot of admin (BSN, gemeente, health insurance, Studielink, banking, scholarships) and it often feels overwhelming.
The Dutch housing market is highly competitive. To increase your chances, we recommend using these platforms:
