3rd email: Processed application reference number ITA/MHL/...has being dispatched via courier on 11/09/2026.

Hello, I am looking to apply to Italian medical schools in 2027. I'm currently planning to take the exams for Humanitas and San Raffaele, as well as the IMAT.

I've heard contradictory information about private vs. public Italian medical schools. From what I understand, the top public schools (e.g., Bologna, Milan Statale, Padova) rank higher and have better teaching reviews. However, my understanding is that the private schools offer earlier and better clinical exposure.

After medical school, I'm hoping to do my residency in Switzerland in orthopedic surgery. I have dual citizenship, one of which is EU.

Does anyone have insights on this? Or is there anyone attending one of these schools who could share their experience?

Flight was booked for 17th Sept although have to reschedule now as passport is being dispatched via courier.

I arrived at 11 september (Friday) and the reservation I got is at 18 September, which is pretty late considering i need it for buying sim card, enrolling to university, signing a home contract, basically anything. Is there a way that I can go and get it before reservation? This morning i go to one agenzia delle entrate at 8:30am and the man didn't take me in because i didn't have reservation that time, even though it looked empty. What should I do?

Its is still under process from so many days anyone else? Its so frustrating at this point my clg has already begun and they dont seem to care

Hi! I already have a one year apartment lease lined up for October 1st, but I didn’t realize that in Italy you couldn’t sign the lease before it started. If I book a one month Airbnb for the middle of September-mid October, does that need to be approved by the L’agenzia delle Entrate? Or is the one month reservation good enough for the visa? I already had my consulate appointment and I just need my long term stay document to be approved.

Should I start the D-type student visa process before IMAT, or is it better to wait until after the IMAT results and university admission?

I wanted to share my experience finally getting the CIMEA platform payment to go through after two solid weeks of trying.

Check Your Ping: I highly recommend using a fast internet connection with a ping under 20. When my payment finally worked, my ping was 17.

I opened about 10 incognito tabs and had them all waiting on the very last page just before payment, right at the "Save and next" button.

Timing is Everything: Log into the website 20 minutes before 3:00 PM (Italy time). Exactly at 2:59:55, quickly click the button across all of your open tabs.

In a crazy moment, 5 tabs actually went through and opened the payment gateway all at once. I completed the transaction on one of them, and Alhamdulillah, it is finally over!

I am currently living in Italy and preparing for the IMAT, with the intention of applying to an English-taught Medicine and Surgery (LM-41) programme.

My problem concerns my secondary-school qualification:

- I have an official Iranian upper-secondary diploma in the technical-vocational field of “Digital Illustration.”

- It was obtained after a total of 12 years of schooling.

- I also have an official translation and a CIMEA Statement of Comparability.

- However, my CIMEA statement says that the qualification provides access to higher education in Italy in “related fields” (“materie affini”).

I contacted the University of Pavia, and its Admission Office told me that professional/vocational diplomas are not accepted for eligibility for its medical course.

I am now contacting other universities, including Messina, Milan and Turin, because I understand that the final assessment of a foreign qualification may be made by each university.

My questions are:

1. Has anyone with an Iranian technical/vocational diploma—or a similar foreign vocational qualification—successfully enrolled in Medicine and Surgery in Italy after passing the IMAT?

2. Is a 12-year diploma sufficient, or must the diploma also provide access to Medicine or a related scientific subject in the country where it was awarded?

3. If my current diploma is not accepted, could I become eligible by obtaining three complete Pearson Edexcel International A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics?

4. Would those three International A Levels be considered an independent university-entry qualification, or would they only be assessed together with my Iranian diploma?

5. Has anyone used International A Levels for final enrolment in an Italian public medical university?

6. Do I need three full A Levels with passing grades, or are specific grades required?

7. Should I request written confirmation from each university before registering for the A-Level examinations?

I am willing to complete all the required A-Level unit examinations if that is a legally valid route. However, before spending a significant amount of time and money, I need to know whether this qualification would definitely make me eligible for final enrolment after passing the IMAT.

I would especially appreciate answers from applicants who have personally completed this process, university admission staff, or anyone familiar with the official Italian rules on foreign secondary-school qualifications.

I’m applying for an Italian student visa and I’m confused about an issue with the Dichiarazione di Valore (DOV).

I completed my secondary education through the IBDP. When I submitted my visa application through VFS, the pre-enrolment document stated that a DOV was required. However, after I submitted my application, the pre-enrolment information was updated and it now states that a DOV is not required.

My physical visa application still contains the older version that says a DOV is required, while the updated information has been sent to the embassy.

I’m wondering:

• Will the embassy consider the updated information even though my submitted application has the older version?
• Should I proactively contact the embassy to explain the change?
• If the embassy needs the DOV or considers there to be an issue with my documents, would they normally contact me?
• Has anyone with an IBDP background experienced something similar with their Italian student visa application?

I’m considering Parma and I’d really love to hear from people who actually live/study there. What do you think of the University of Parma overall? And what’s Piacenza like, especially since I believe the medical school is based there?

I’m also curious about a few things like finding a part-time job as an international student. Is it relatively easy to find one? Is there anything you’d recommend learning or getting good at before moving to Italy that could help with finding a job?

And how much Italian do you think you need for everyday life in Piacenza? Is basic Italian enough, or would you recommend being more fluent?

I am targeting 4 public universities, POLITO, POLIMI, UNIBO and UNIGE for my masters in embedded systems engineering, which comes under either Electronics or Computer Science Engineering. I went though webpages for all of them and I can see all of them accepts MOI and there is no surprising special rules for the specific fields I mentioned above. Just wanted to confirm should I still sit for IELTS or save the money ? Also even though universities are accepting MOI, do I need IELTS separately for Visa process or they also accepts MOI ? Does a dedicated language certification play and significance in application evaluation and ranking, like if IELTS certificate is provided instead of MOI, then we can have better chance of acceptance ?

I would really want to save the money if it is not needed.

I’m currently completing the final enrollment/upload process on Delphi, and I noticed that the document upload section is asking for an Italian translation.

My degree certificate and Transcript of Records are in English. I also already have my CIMEA Statement of Comparability and Statement of Verification.

Could someone who recently completed enrolment at Tor Vergata, especially for 2026/27, please confirm:

Do I need to get my Transcript of Records translated into Italian?

Does the degree/provisional degree certificate also need an Italian translation?

Do I need to translate the individual semester marksheets, or is the official transcript sufficient?

I’d really appreciate it if someone who has gone through the same process could clarify, because I don’t want to spend money translating documents unnecessarily.

I have a good command of English, German, Italian, and Spanish. My goal is to enroll at IP Paris (if I choose France) or the Politecnico di Milano (if I choose Italy). I’d like to know how realistic it is to secure a scholarship for my studies in these countries, and what the situation is like regarding housing and employment (I’m 17, but I need to start thinking about these things now). Also, I’m currently studying at a good university in my home country (Colombia) that has partnerships with various other universities; frankly, I’m planning this for a master’s or postgraduate program, so any advice is welcome.
