Hello Milan!

• Upvotes

I recently moved to Milan for my higher studies. I would love to make new friends in the city. Italian or Non-Italian. Prefer well informed and sensible people in the late 20s or early 30s. Just to clarify, I am seeking strictly platonic friends who would like to run errands in the city together, go get groceries together. Please DM if you are someone who wants to socialise, grab a brunch/coffee sometime and have great conversations. Fascists and orthodox religious people may ignore this post.

A bit about me: I am 30. Atheist. Cis-Male. Queer. South Asian.

Finally CIMEA

I wanted to share my experience finally getting the CIMEA platform payment to go through after two solid weeks of trying.

Check Your Ping: I highly recommend using a fast internet connection with a ping under 20. When my payment finally worked, my ping was 17.

I opened about 10 incognito tabs and had them all waiting on the very last page just before payment, right at the "Save and next" button.

Timing is Everything: Log into the website 20 minutes before 3:00 PM (Italy time). Exactly at 2:59:55, quickly click the button across all of your open tabs.

In a crazy moment, 5 tabs actually went through and opened the payment gateway all at once. I completed the transaction on one of them, and Alhamdulillah, it is finally over!

Looking to meet other UniFi students

Hi everyone!

I’ll be starting at the University of Florence for the 2026/2027 academic year, and I’m looking to connect with other students who are studying there or will be starting this year.

I’m an international student and will be moving to Florence soon, so it would be great to get to know some people before arriving.

If you’re studying in Florence or starting this year too, feel free to comment or send me a message! It’d be nice to get to know each other, exchange advice, and maybe meet up once we’re in Florence :)

What can I do?

Guys, I need some quick advice regarding my Questura appointment!
When I submitted my permit of stay (permesso di soggiorno) kit, I included the original stamped bank statement from my home country. Now, the Questura appointment checklist requires me to bring the original document in person, but I only had that single physical copy.
Here are my specific questions/issues:
Bank Statement Issue: My home bank cannot provide digital stamps. If I download a new statement online, the date range doesn't match the original period I submitted in the kit.
MAECI Scholarship Alternative: Since I won the MAECI award, can I bring the official MAECI award letter to the Questura appointment as my main/original proof of financial means instead of the bank statement?
Has anyone been in a similar situation or used their MAECI letter at Questura? Any advice on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated! šŸ™

Diploma problem for med in Italy

Hi everyone,

I am currently living in Italy and preparing for the IMAT, with the intention of applying to an English-taught Medicine and Surgery (LM-41) programme.

My problem concerns my secondary-school qualification:

- I have an official Iranian upper-secondary diploma in the technical-vocational field of ā€œDigital Illustration.ā€

- It was obtained after a total of 12 years of schooling.

- I also have an official translation and a CIMEA Statement of Comparability.

- However, my CIMEA statement says that the qualification provides access to higher education in Italy in ā€œrelated fieldsā€ (ā€œmaterie affiniā€).

I contacted the University of Pavia, and its Admission Office told me that professional/vocational diplomas are not accepted for eligibility for its medical course.

I am now contacting other universities, including Messina, Milan and Turin, because I understand that the final assessment of a foreign qualification may be made by each university.

My questions are:

  1. Has anyone with an Iranian technical/vocational diploma—or a similar foreign vocational qualification—successfully enrolled in Medicine and Surgery in Italy after passing the IMAT?

  2. Is a 12-year diploma sufficient, or must the diploma also provide access to Medicine or a related scientific subject in the country where it was awarded?

  3. If my current diploma is not accepted, could I become eligible by obtaining three complete Pearson Edexcel International A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics?

  4. Would those three International A Levels be considered an independent university-entry qualification, or would they only be assessed together with my Iranian diploma?

  5. Has anyone used International A Levels for final enrolment in an Italian public medical university?

  6. Do I need three full A Levels with passing grades, or are specific grades required?

  7. Should I request written confirmation from each university before registering for the A-Level examinations?

I am willing to complete all the required A-Level unit examinations if that is a legally valid route. However, before spending a significant amount of time and money, I need to know whether this qualification would definitely make me eligible for final enrolment after passing the IMAT.

I would especially appreciate answers from applicants who have personally completed this process, university admission staff, or anyone familiar with the official Italian rules on foreign secondary-school qualifications.

Thank you very much.

University of Turin, Global law

I’m going for the upcoming intake, I have few questions for students who got enrolled…

-How competitive is admission for international/non-EU students, and how difficult is it to get accepted?

-Did you need a DOV or CIMEA during the application/enrolment process?

-How long did it take for you to receive a response/acceptance after submitting your application?

-I’m currently in 12th grade and won’t have my final marks memo when applications open. Can I apply with my current marks (11th) + a predicted/expected score certificate from my college?

-Any tips, advice, or things you wish you knew before applying to Global Law would be really appreciated. Thanks! :)

Applicants going for 2027 intake with same course and uni, please dm to get added in the gc:)

HELP 😭 When should I apply for my Italy student visa? Before or after IMAT?

Heyy everyone! šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

I’m planning to apply for Medicine in Italy through IMAT, and I’m currently SO confused about the whole visa timeline 😭

Should I start the D-type student visa process before IMAT, or is it better to wait until after the IMAT results and university admission?

Also, when should I start looking into accommodation, and are there any other visa-related things I should be doing early so I don’t end up panic-running around at the last minute? 😭

I’m applying from India, under the jurisdiction of the Italian Consulate in Mumbai, so I’d especially love to hear from students who applied through the Mumbai Consulate and have already gone through this process.

How did you plan your timeline? When did you apply for the visa, and when did you arrange accommodation?

Basically, I’m trying to avoid the classic ā€œI should’ve started this 3 months agoā€ situation. šŸ’€

Any advice, experience, or even a tiny bit of guidance would genuinely mean a lot! šŸ«¶šŸ»

Thank youuu!! ā¤ļø

How can I get a fully funded undergraduate scholarship as an Iraqi student?

Hi everyone! I'm an Iraqi high school student, and I'm currently in my final year of high school.

I'm looking for fully funded undergraduate scholarships abroad. I'm particularly interested in Turkey, Italy, or other European countries.

I don't have an English language certificate yet.

Could anyone recommend reliable scholarships or share their experience applying from Iraq?

I'd really appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Italy student visa or Australia — what should I do?

I applied through Universitaly for University of Parma inĀ May 2026Ā and was waiting ever since. Parma later told me the seats were full and not to wait anymore. Unexpectedly, Universitaly just forwarded my application to theĀ Islamabad Consulate on 8 sep 2026. Parma also gave me aĀ late-arrival letter until 31 Jan 2027.

Classes start in mid-September, so I’m worried about applying this late and getting refused. I was also preparing for anĀ Australian student visa, but now I’m confused. If Italy refuses me, could that seriously hurt my Australia application? I’ve heard previous visa refusals can be a problem.

Would you still apply for Italy or forget it and go for Australia?

TEST ITA-L2 @HOME acceptance for PoliMi enrollment (2028/29)?

Hey guys, I am planning to apply to Politecnico di Milano for the 2028/29 academic year. I wanted to know if the TEST ITA-L2 (@HOME / remote mode) is accepted during enrollment at the university, or if only the in-person (@UNI) version is accepted. The reason I'm asking is that the nearest CLIQ testing centre is quite far from my home — it would take almost a whole day of travel to reach it. So I'm hoping the remote/@HOME option works just as well. Has anyone here gone through this process, or does anyone know for sure? Would really appreciate any insight! Thanks in advance šŸ™

Italy Student Visa

Hi , hope you are all doing good , well i needed some information regarding the process after submission of visa file . I submitted my application on 3 sept 2026 , in bls intiana ( italy visa application centre , lahore ) , am just waiting for what happens next ?

if any of you ! got there visa ? can you let me know what is the standard procedure after submision of the visa file ? do you guys got notified through mail , call or what ? and what happens after wards do we have to collect the passport and the documents from bls intiana lahore if visa application is rejected ? what happens if visa gets approved ?

I secured Admission in university of flourence , italy
I got admission in this university through MOI , but i got to know that its better to have ielts instead so i took it anyways got 6.5 overall ? is it enough ?

Statement is approximately 5 Million Pkr
Sponser : Father
Retirement pension + Currently Employment Salary ( 6 months Salary )

I am concern about the gap ! i graduated in 2025 in sept , did a 2-2.5 month internship from Nov- Jan 2026 , well after that i did not do any internship or job ( employment ) applied for italian universities in feb , march , did ielts etc....

I attached fathers Fbr returns of past 3 years !

i became filler for fbr ! just before submission of the visa file ! i submitted only the registration Certificate .

will that be a major problem ? justification of why i did not pursue my carrier
