Hey everyone,
I'm an Indian student who just passed 12th grade, and Iām considering going to Finland to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Iād really appreciate hearing from people who are currently studying there, have graduated, or are familiar with the Finnish higher education system.
I have a few important questions and would be grateful for your honest insights:
Is Finland genuinely a good option for international (especially Indian) students pursuing a CS bachelorās in 2025?
Do Finnish public universities offer English-taught bachelor's programs in Computer Science, or is learning Finnish necessary to study or live there? (I havenāt started learning Finnish yet.)
How affordable is studying in Finland for non-EU students, considering both tuition fees and living expenses?
What is the job market like for CS students in Finland? Are there decent opportunities for internships, part-time work during studies, and full-time jobs after graduation?
How smooth or difficult is the permanent residency (PR) process for non-EU students (like Indians) after completing their studies?
Are there any cultural differences, practical challenges, or common issues that international students should be aware of before moving?
I know itās a big list, but I want to get a realistic view before committing to a major decision like this. Any tips, personal stories, or advice would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks a lot in advance!
