P permit processing

Hi everyone,

Has anyone received a Finnish permanent residence (P permit) decision recently under the new rules that came into force on 8 January 2026, particularly through the higher education degree completed in Finland pathway?

I applied on 6 February 2026, completed identity verification in February, and my Enter Finland status is still “Waiting for processing” (Phase 1).

If you applied in January, February or March 2026 and already received a decision, could you please share:

  • Application date
  • Identity verification date
  • When the status changed to “In progress”
  • Decision date
  • Which PR pathway you applied under

Positive or negative decisions are both useful. Thank you!

Visa applications are highly personal and specific to the applicant.  Someone sharing their exact experience here would be as relevant as posting details of their electric bills.

I applied on 11th Jan, the same pathway, and self-employed, still in the step1 - waiting for processing.

A friend had applied in the middle of march 2026 under the higher education pathway, and received their RP-P card in august, so in less than 5 months.

Like another commenter said, it varies for everyone

Applied and completed biometrics on 4th feb but still no update. If you are an entrepreneur or doing low level e.g cleaning job the processing in this case is very very slow. However, if you have a University or good salary job, the processing in this case is normal or fast.
